Question about Sony Walkman D-NE300 Personal CD Player
"No Disc" comes up on digital screen even with new disc. Also, when it appears to be trying to read the disc it clicks for about 2-3 sec., 3 times, then it comes up "No Disc". I hit "play" with door open and failsafe switch engaged, but disc did not spin. I'm pretty handy with repairing electronics. If I can get specific directions, I probably can do it myself. I would need specific instructions on how to get front cover, "lid", off in order to access the guts. I don't want to snap off anything. Thanks!

There is a switch on the bottom of the unit that puts it in "HOLD" mode. My guess its for use when it is shipped so there will be less chance of damage. Try switching the two position switch to the other position.

It is quite possible that your optical unit is faulty. First of all clean the lens on the optical head using an ear bud, softly rub for a good glazing. then try to see if it works if not the lens unit assembly must be replaced and must be done with care and experience.so take help to replce but make sure the cost is within a practical level. Good day
