Question about HP Officejet Pro L7580 All-In-One InkJet Printer

2 Answers

Same as some other complaints at your site about this printer/aio

Have been using printer for 4 months and stopped working suddenly stating no black/yellow ink. Sometimes says no black ink. Told that these are no ink cartrges, but "printheads" (special order) Matched all numbers on printhead and replaced with new printhead (C9381a) as per instructions. Printer still reporting no black ink reserve and still have no use of printer. I amnot aware of another source of ink that is considdered a "cartridge" for this model. Please help.

It is not that it is out of ink as I placed a brand new printhead with Black/Yellow and get the same error message saying that there is no balck ink. I have cleaned the electronic contacts on printhead and inside machine. Still no luck. I have also unplugged from machine and outlet waited then replugged in outlet and machine....still no luck

OK Finally. I now understand that the cartridges are behind the door and the print heads are separate. Now why couldn't anybady at Staples explain this to me. I actually had bought the correct cartridge (88 Black XL) but returned it when I saw it looked nothing like the printheads. Salesperson didn't seem to be aware that there were cartridges as well. Told me I needed to special order the black/Yellow printhead. I will order an XL 88 Black again and get back to you about the resolution (or not) of this problem.

I have had trouble with HP7580 since last Dec when a pinthead (not a cartridge) msg said black printhead is bad or missing. Put a new one in and printed about 10 days with 3-5 "pages" a day maybe. Then the msg was magenta printhead missing or bad. It is now 3 June and the thing still doesn't fax, copy, or print. The printhead msg disables the whole shooting match. There is a chip in each printhead and it is set to have ink remain in the head but to stop everything NOW till you spend another $60 each printhead and replace when IT wants you to. It is a rotten setup by HP to "give" you a nice printer but to access your bank account regularly for printing any part of a page at a certain number of pages irregardless of amount of ink. My advice: nix HP for this policy. Ink is cheap and they get $60 plus for 2 lousy oz--a shotglass amount. Wait till the cartridges run dry $15 each for 4. That is $180 for about 2000 pages, it counts pages not ink. Don't buy an HP all in one is my solution, even though it is a good printer. It sucks ink like a camel.

Your printer does indeed have cartridges...4 in fact, along with 2 printheads. 1 printhead is for Magenta/cyan. The other for Black/yellow.

You know where the printheads are. The ink cartridges are below them. There is a door that pulls down to expose all four.

Here is a link to HP Support for changing your ink cartridges: L7580 Ink Cartridge

Consider XL cartridges...they last much longer.

Also, for reference, here is a link to the User Guide for your printer: L7580 User Guide

Koadak easy share all in one, won't print in bacl

Check the version of AiO software you are using. We had to re-install the Aio Kodak software yesterday because the print que did not register when I changed the ink cartridges. The AiO would scan, but the computer side still thought it was out of ink.

Perhaps the latest software will fix your problem too.

Trying to copy something and this error 2200 pops up and states refer to user guide

Hi
This is a scanner lock issue. You may try the following:

Power off the All-In-One (AIO) off and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Wait 30 seconds. Then reinsert the power supply and power the AIO on.

Try a test scan now. If the error reoccurs, then try the below:

Power off the AIO and remove the power supply from the back of the unit. Open the scanner cover and check the scanner glass for cracks and the scanner casing for cracks. Close the scanner lid.
Open the top cover of the AIO and using the carrier belt, move the cartridge carrier to the middle of the unit. Remove both cartridges, close the top cover, reinsert the power supply, and power the AIO on.

If the error still occurs, you may insert the cartridges one at a time and re-check..

hope the above info is of use to you.. try out..!!
