Recently hotmail changed my homepage without warning & since then can't print out incoming e/mails or even old ones, yet have no prob with my Broadband address, same as usual! If I want to print out hotmail message, I have to send the e/m to my broadband address, so as to copy same ! Waste of time etc. Can't seem to get onto the Hotmail address for support for some reason & would like their address for that & they may have the answer, otherwise can you advise ? Have already attempted to re install printer with the supplied disk, without success! Although it still works OK with the Broadband one ! Thanks.....MB

Be sure and look at the top when you open the emails. They may have categorized your email into things like "Focused" and "Other" and set up filters. Your emails may be there under another category. They didn't announce that they were going to do this. Personally I don't like it at all.

But if you want to get around the Nokia Messaging then here is what to do:
Go to Mail on your phone - Options - Settings - scroll down to email - Options - New Mailbox
Click - start and then NO to allow connections (that stops Nokia Messaging swinging into control)
Now enter your hotmail address except do not put @hotmail.com at the end. Put @abc.com
e..g. if you email is *****@yahoo.com then enter mailto:*****@abc.com
This is very important because if fools the phone into thinking this is a non hotmail email account. If you do not use this by pass, then when the operating system detects you are doing a hotmail, it simply tell you that it has made you a nice new bookmark for the hotmail web page.
Now enter your password - press OK
Now enter your correct hotmail address - e.g. *****@yahoo.com - press OK (this time you can use the yahoo)
Now you will get an error message saying unable to define settings and it will allow you to manually set the POP3 or IMAP. yahoo is of course POP3 so choose that.
OK - to the wizard intro
Incoming mail server - pop3.live.com
Security - SSL/TLS - very important
Outgoing mail server - smtp.live.com
Security - Start TLS ----> THIS IS THE NEW SETTING THAT HAS RECENTLY CHANGED. BEFORE SSL/TLS WAS FINE BUT NOW THE MICROSOFT SERVER IS REJECTING SSL/TLS EMAIL WITH AN ERROR 530 MESSAGE/START WITH TLS.
SO PLEASE ENSURE THIS OUTMAIL SECURITY IS CORRECT - START TLS.
If you yahoo was working fine but suddenly it stopped working for outbound emails, then this is the setting you now need change.
Port Number - 25 (which is the default)
Some users have reported that it only works if you use Port 587 for outbound. This depends on whether or not not ISP is port blocking or not. I suggest you try 25 and if you still cannot send emails via hotmail, then change to 587.
The wizard should now complete the setup and in the list you should now see the new email but now it needs editing further so click options - settings (on the new email you have just added).
- Connection settings
- Incoming e-mail
- change the user name to the hotmail one i.e. change *****@abc.com to *****@yahoo.com
leave password correct
leave incoming mail server pop3.live.com
access point - whatever is your default - I set to always ask
mailbox name - change this to *****@yahoo.com i.e. your yahoo address
leave mailbox type as pop3
leave security ports SSL/TLS - this is still okay for incoming mail
leave port - default
leave APOP as OFF
now back to OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
change my email address to your correct hotmail one i.e. ****@yahoo.com
change user name to your correct hotmail one i.e. *****@yahoo.com
leave password - it should be same as for incoming mail
are you able to print any document from your local computer if so your driver and your print are both fine, check print preview before printing your hotmail mails, if still not coming alright try high content to be printed only
If your looking to set up Gmail you have to setup a new account. If your looking to set up a hotmail account put the following in when setting up, even if you .co.uk type live.com work for me thankgod Incoming POP3 Mail ServerSetting : User Name : email@example.com Password : your email password Incoming Mail Server : pop3.live.com Mail Box Name : Hotmail POP3 Mail Box Type : POP3 Security (Port) : SSL always Port : 995
Outgoing POP3 Mail ServerSetting : Email Address : firstname.lastname@example.org User Name : email@example.com Password : your email password Outgoing Mail Server : smtp.live.com Security (Port) : TLS always Port : 587
That would depend on what web browser you are using (IE, Firefox, Opera, etc..). For IE:
Go to the website you want to set as your homepage (in this case, www.hotmail.com) Click on Tools > Internet Options. Under the General tab, you will see Home Page. Click on Use Current. Click Apply, then click OK. Whenever you open IE, the first page will always be hotmail.com
Just click on the printer icon at the top of your InBox to print the message only.
If that doesn't help, check the page setup from the File menu in your browser, before you print. Or you may have to adjust your print preferences, as well...if they've been changed.
Did you recently update your browser to IE8? That may have caused some changes...
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
