CLICK AND GRIND IN 270D BROTHER SEWNG MACHINE

While sewing, as the needle sews I hear a knock, every time the needle enter the material and when I go through 2-3 layers of simple plain cotton material, the machines appears to have a grinding noise. I changed the needle, rethreaded top and bottom and blowed the dust out. but does not appear to help. the machine is 11 months old. How often should I oil the machine? thank you for time and effort. JR

This happened to me and I discovered that my presser foot was stuck up. (LOL) I was using embroidery and the needle was actually brushing against the raised presser foot. So, I turned machine off, removed embroidery part and checked the presser foot switch. It was not moving. Well, I put the machine on regular sewing and just turned the wheel a few times and the presser foot reset. When I went back to embroidery all was fine (and still is). so, check yours.

Make sure you're using the correct foot for the stitch. Is this during sewing or embroidery? Take off the bobbin plate using the screwdriver and remove the bobbin. Make sure everything is clean under and around the shuttle. If you've ever broken a needle the tip might have fallen down into the mechanism and occasionally be jamming it.

Lervia sewng machine. material wont feed through. Dogs are up but material just wont move through. needle moving freely.

Hm, could be several things. If stitches are not being formed, it could be a timing issue (the needle does not arrive at the bobbin at the correct time). Did the machine recently hit a pin or something hard? That will knock a machine out of time. There could also be a broken piece stuck that is preventing the feed dogs from operating. Thoroughly clean the machine around the bobbin area and feed dogs.

try turning it off & then back on
I've encountered the problem with my electronic sewng machine
it jams up & I turn it off & then turn it back on, that usually clear the circuit board
if it keeps doing it, I would suggest taking it to be serviced

I have a Brother SE-270D. The top thread is not

A bent needle will cause this. Otherwise the shuttle is out of time, have it serviced..

I need a replacement needle to embroidery. need to know the model#. I have a Brother SE-270D Easy Thread Cassette System.

The thread cassette has no bearing on what needle you use. You need a Schmetz embroidery needle with the red band size 75 for light to medium weight fabrics or a size 90 for heavier fabrics such as denim.

Error message on Brother SE-270D sewing machine

The safety device will activate if the machine has a bind or is unable to run at correct speed. If you turn the handwheel is it tight/hard to turn? if it is than thats it. Now what is binding the machine has to be diagnosed.

Large amount of thread on rear of material, like nest

Perhaps the needle thread tension is too loose for the material your sewing. It could be that your thread dog is clogged with thread (this has happened to me) Check your bobbin, perhaps its just wound poorly.
OR the needle you are using is too fine/heavy for the thread.

It is under warantee for 12 months, so I would recommend you phone the dealer to arrange for them to have a look at it.....if you have any samples of sewing, take them too.
