CD Burner Does Not Work

When I go to burn cd's (audio or pics) the burner will turn on and just make noise. It sounds like it is working but it burns nothing to the disc. After about 10 minutes the computer just spits the disc out. Why is the burner not working? Help!!

Try a different make of disc, if same uninstal and re-install burning software. If you think the cd rom maybe has a driver problem, check this link to and try solution No.2 to try and solve. http://www.fixya.com/support/t126369-e_drive_wont_start_up_any_product

Can't burn pass over 78 min on my burner

CDs can only store 800 Mb, which is exactly 78 minutes. If you need to burn more data than that onto a disk then you will need to burn DVDs with a DVD burner.
Please rate, Thanks!

Wont recognize burned disks

This does sound like a defective drive, most likely a laser / reader issue, because the refractive properties of the CDR is different from a "pressed" disk it looks like thia failed TOC seek issue, the head starts at the center of the disk and reads outwards, the click noise is most likeley the head reaching the terminus (the outer limit of the motorised movement), the drive then unable to find the TOC gives up and decides the disk is unreadable. if this drive is within the manufacturer's Warrantee period I would reccommend sending it back.
