Hi...
Do you have all the recommended speakers connected to the unit and the speakers switch set to the right pair of speakers A or B?

IF all the connections are OK ..Take it back and get a new one

When an amp won't come out of standby mode when you try to turn it on at the receiver, there is usually a problem in the output section (shorted outputs) and the amp may also display something like "protect" on the display if it has one. There could be lots of other causes but outputs are the first thing I'd look at.

If its brand new, then return it for a refund.

Remote will no longer power on Onkyo HT-S3500. Once I turn it on manually, the rest of the functions work properly.

I just had this same issue. I tried to change the batteries for the factory remote that came with the Onkyo HT-S3500 (remote: RC-799M). Still no luck. It would not power on with the remote, despite the light flashing and the and all other remote function working. If I powered on the receiver manually, everything worked (except power on/off).
I just pushed a button on the remote labeled "REMOTE MODE RECEIVER" and viola, the remote now powers the device on and off and works just like usual. Not sure what the heck happened, but I would suggest pushing that button on your remote.

I have Onkyo HT510 receiver. does not turn "ON".

hi,
There is a standby transformer inside the Onkyo receiver at the mains input stage. If the standby transformer is faulty then the unit will not power on. There will be two transformers. One is big and the other is a small one. The small tarnsformer is the standby transformer. Which will be fitted on a small board where the power cable is connected. Replace the transformer to rectify this problem.
OK

Cannot turn on by remote controller. Want to

Ok, here is my little spin on remote controls.
Sometimes they can be overloaded with commands and lock up the processor that is inside the unit.
The remote can be saved.
1. Remove the batteries and press every button on the remote control and then install new, not the batteries you took out, but new batteries and see if that works.
2. If step one does not work, then you can remove the batteries and unfold a small paper clip and bend it into a U shape and use it to touch the contacts on both ends of the battery contacts together and clear the memory.
3. Test the remote control, if you have a camcorder or a digital camera, and a cell phone will work. Point the remote at the device and press any button, you should be able to see the IR (Infrared LED) lighting up on the display.
If after all of these procedures are followed and you still do not have command of the device that you need to control. You still have more options.
Either replace the remote control with a new or compatible one, I use 1-800-remotes, www.remotes.com.
Or have the device that you are trying to control diagnosed by a technician and see if the remote IR receiver in the unit has gone bad.
I hope that this helps you with your remote issues and as always, Thank you for using FixYa.

Onkyo ht-r670 receiver is new and will not turn on. red standby light is on. but no display. also remote doesn't have any effect.

I would check any fuses first. The power transformer could also be open. There is a stanby supply that provides 5 volts that is always on . This is what supplys voltage for the standby light and the cpu. When you press the power button the cpu trips the power on relay that provides the 120v ac to the main transformer. If the transformer is open nothing happens. Onkyp part # is 2301798. Check the windings for continuity.

The unit will only turn on foe a few sec, due the standby light

Just inside the unit your power cord goes into a blackbox (like a coil of wire) that regulates the actual power the unit recieves, this maybe faulty and needs to be replaced but if this unit is out of warranty this maybe more expencive than a new one, the unit will still stay in standby but when you try to turn it on it draws more power and the supply control won't let it. I have had one of these units that has had the same problem in my work and it proved to dear to repair. Sorry hope this helped. You could try bypassing it but you would probably blow the unit up.

Onkyo TX-805 7.1 fails to power up out of standby

the unit has sensed an internal fault and shut down or the start up relay has failed in pin #3 inside the unit you will need a service tech to help, if its new the unit is under warranty, the other common cause can be a speaker short in the back, in the wiring or worse at one of the speakers, my new unit had the same problem twice, once for the relay and once because the unit error self test did not like the unit in 6.1 configuration with the left rear surround speaker, holding the power knob down on start up for 10seconds kicks in the auto self diagnostics mode good luck

Brand new Onkyo Tx-sr605 won't leave stand by

If the unit will not leave standby I would remove all power, disconnect *all* connections at the back, reconnect to a power source and try powering on. This will eliminate any connection causing the Onkyo to stay in standby due to a short. If it still will not enter power-on mode, you may want to look at the power source (is it properly grounded?), but beyond that the unit probably needs to go back.
