Question about BenQ FP731 17" LCD Monitor

Benq screen resolution auto adjust seems to auto adjust wrongly

Hi all

Just acquired a BenQ
22 inch T221W Wide LCD Monitor 1680x1050 5ms 1000:1 Black to go with the Benq Joy boook R45 series -

Tried to install the monitor, ajusted the screens through Nvidia - which seemed to work, then the auto adjust (sorry that word does not look right) flipped it straight back to fuzzy and incorrect screen resolution.

We even tried a different laptop (an old Gateway) same problem - just took about 30 seconds longer to flip to blurrrrred. Either it needs its eye's testing or I do.

Any suggestions greatfully received...considered cables and will test that theory tonight, and sending it back for one that works.

Thanks
Lorraine

I would recommend you to bring it back and get a new one, if its till under warranty. You cannot fix the problem on the panel buttons it looks something to do with the components in the circuit bord.

I need mainboard for my BenQ T221W

When it have this kind of error is a problem of the powerboard.
This error means: your monitor enter in protection mode!
Anyway you must open it and look at the all capacitors and if are them inflated, if them are inflated must change them.

But can be a problem with inverters or CCFL Lamps... control the transistors - MOSFET on the powerboard.

Good luck!

Power light is blinking, but no diplay

Hi.

If the Power Light blinks, its means that the monitor is in ' STAND BY Mode '.
Monitor stays in Stand-by mode only if it does not getting any signals from computer.
please check the cable which connects the monitor and computer are connected properly.
Also check that the cable is connected to the proper slot of the computer.

If you hear some continuous beeps when you start the computer, then the problem may with the display card ( Video Adapter or Graphics card ) on the PC.

thank you

My Benq t221w monitors power light flashes green ond will not turn on, the screen stays black, sometimes it will turn on but noe it stays off.

It is an inverter issue, you can seek a replacement but it would be more cost effective to replace the unit.

I install window 7 but my benq 15" lcd monitar's screen rosuation not competible. pls guide me how i increase the rosulation thnx

As for your 15" LCD BENQ Monitor, "1024 x 768" pixels is the Maximum Resolution
If you increase your screen higher than the Maximum resolution you get a black screen! because the monitor cannot support the resolution higher than "1024x768" pixels.

How to change your screen resolution Win 7-> Link

FYI
Here are typical resolutions for some popular screen sizes
19-inch screen (standard ratio): 1280 x 1024 pixels
20-inch screen (standard ratio): 1600 x 1200 pixels
22-inch screen (widescreen): 1680 x 1050 pixels
24-inch screen (widescreen): 1900 x 1200 pixels

Hope it helps.

"out of range" when connecting ps3 -> benq t221w

It display out off range because the PS3 is feeding the monitor with higher resolution that the monitor cannot suppoert, try setting the PS3 to the lowest resolution first and go up from there.

Does anyone know where to purchase a A/D for board benq T221W

Sorry to hear, that certainly hurts the pride! You say - nothing on eBay, but if you search for Benq for parts or repair, you may find one with a busted screen. You may want to try your search again in a few days if you come up empty at first. A current search brings up a 17 inch, which does no good. If you will use the save search option, eBay will e-mail you if something gets listed. Also: you should have a manual that came with this monitor. It should provide a way to contact Benq for warranty repair. I know that this is not a warranty issue, buy perhaps they can point you in the right direction. Worst case: if you come up empty-handed, sell the remains for parts on eBay, there is always someone like you looking for parts. And you'll likely get a good sum if you list it right!
BTW: how badly is that board damaged? Maybe the board is repairable by a good tech?
