hello, my xbox 360 appears to have a bad video card. it started with the screen turning different shades of colors while playing games, such as GTA4. After about two weeks, the 360 would turn on fine, and read the controllers, but no audio/video would appear. it is NOT the TV, and NOT the cords. i believe the GPU is blown, but am certainly not an expert. it is past warranty so i pried it open, removed every single piece up to the motherboard, and can not see a visible malfunction. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out! i was wondering what i could possibly do myself, or if i truly do have to send it into a computer repair shop.

-   the 360 played fine up to a certain point until it began playing with malformed colors showing primarily purple and green. it happened when i was playing Gears of War 2 and when i went to examine the cords and tv it seemed fine-   Guest

-   My Xbox 360 elite went out after i started playing gta4 the screen turned green and than i turned it off and back on and the red ring of death came on but i took it apart and put the washers and new bolts on the heat sinks but now i dont have the rrod but there is no audio/video at all so i was wondering if the video card went out and if so is this possible to get repaired at a computer shop or tv electronic shop.

same here i finally got it working though. U need to clean off the cpu and gpu then add some arctic 5 .after boot it up block the vents with a towel and leave it for 5 minutes then turn it off .if it got hot enough it will set the video card solder back in place .i recomend pushing down on the two heatsinks while its cooling down .after that leave it off to cool right down then turn it on while holding y and the righ trigger until it reboots.thats what fixed my video u might have to try a few time before it works depending on how hot it got.
thats because the chips are over heating they need to be on the heat sinks tighter remove the x clamps look up x clamp fix on your tube that fixed my problem
