It looks like you lost whatever photos you took today. I would suggest formatting the card IN the camera. That should make it usable again. If that doesn't work, you might want to go ahead and purchase a new card.
I hope this helps! Please rate the answer, if it does. Regards, Char1ieJ

I hate answering a question with a question but can't see a way around this. Are you using the camera to download pictures to the computer? If so what you need to do is purchase a card reader and I would suggest a card reader that does many different memory card types.

What this card reader does is steps completely around your camera and downloads pictures directly to your computer.

The Card Reader plugs into a USB port on your computer and looks at the reader (once the memory card is inserted) like an external mass storage device or external hard drive.

You then download the pictures from the reader/memory card to a file you create on your computer.

The nice thing about this is that it won't matter what camera you have or memory card you use the camera is no longer in the flow of pictures downloaded to the computer.

After the pictures are on the computer you can put the memory card back in the camera and "Format" the card this function is normally found in the set up menu.

Card not initialized

Firstly, check the type of card you bought for this camera. It should be XD card(M-type).
Secondly, Try to format the new card and then use it.

I used a memory card converter in my computer to put pictures up and I unplugged it improperly, Then when I put it back in my camera it said, "card not initialized." What do I do?

If the pictures are safely downloaded to your computer, then you can safely erase the card by formatting (initializing) it in the camera. If they are not, then don't format (initialize). Take the card to a store like Walmart and use their picture kiosk machines to either print your pics or save them to a CD.

After deleting photos from the memory card, it now says "card not initialized", when put back into the camera, none of the functions seem to fix it, can you help?

If your pics are safely on your computer, follow these rules: 1. Never erase pics using the computer...always use the camera. 2. Never remove anything from the computer USB ports without using the "safely remove hardware" function. 3. Now, your card needs to be formatted in the camera.

Can't veiw pictures from memory card on camera

Some cameras do not allow a computer to camera transfer. It causes the card to have a different initialization not compatible with your camera. If the pictures are safely on your computer, format the card in the camera and it will be fine.

Proplems with my Motorola Z10 phone

Had the same problem with Z10 and a Nokia 3310. I got around it by backing up the memory card, then inserting in the phone and using "Format Card" option. It then puts on the required file structure and you can copy back the files to the relevant folders.

You helped me with my camera

Glad I helped the first time.Let's see if I do as well again. What I often see when memory cards are used in external reader (especially with Macs), is that the Mac writes files back on the card. Usually the file(s) are just data files and don't really do anything, until the camera tries to access the card. Camera says "I don't recognize that file. I sure didn't create it", and proceeds to reject the card. Usually if you open the card in the computer, you'll see a file or folder that wasn't there before (other than the one the camera creates). It may be a hidden folder, so you might need to change settings to show hidden files also. If you delete that unneeded file, the camera should recognize the card again, without having to re-format it.
