Just to be sure, I looked at your Model Number and found a PT-56LCX70. I usually order my parts from Andrews Electronics in California, they will have the OEM components that you will need. Their site is http://www.andrewselectronics.com/welcome.aspx And their phone number is a 24-Hour Order Desk: (800) 274-4666 I recommend the phone order so you can talk to the person about the different types of IC’s that are available.
The part number that I was able to find was LFS4000PA1EB.
But I would contact Panasonic about this problem, they have an 18 month warranty on the lamp product.
I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance please comment to this post and I will try to help you further. Thanks for using FixYa asnowman
Is the lamp indicator light flashing? A new lamp may not solve the problem. The known problem with lamp failures is poor voltage output from the ballast,.. a problem Panasonic refuses to correct and they decided to no longer provide the repair part through their supplier in an attempt to sweep this problem under the rug.
Lamp light flashing once every 5 seconds or twice every 5? Twice every 5 seconds,....lamp failure, once every 5 seconds,...ballast or thermal fuse failure. You have a lamp, ballast or thermal fuse problem. The ballasts are a discontinued part and can only be purchased used at approx. $225.00 or rebuilt for around $175.00 less any service charges to diagnois and repair.
Ballast failure is more that likley the problem. Is the lamp light blinking,...once every 5 seconds? Discontinued part and can only be purchased used or rebuilt. Rebuilt units are available, check Ebay. Have a service type person confirm problem before throwing good money after bad!
There is a convergence kit available for your model which contains the new ICs and resistors plus the instructions of how to install the repair kit on CD. Heres a link look under Panasonic repair kits and you will see your model listed. www.tvrepairkits.net
