SOURCE: Part number for Davor IVS1

Remove the metal filter screen. Reach behind (above) the bulb and rotate/unscrew the bulb by the base and it will drop out. Place the new bulb through the hole while reaching behind to screw it in the same way you removed it. Many replacements available online for under $6 plus shipping. Search in Google for "JDR E27 75W" (My dealer had said the bulbs would cost $40!)

Why does one of the halogen lamps burn out frequently?

Halogen lamps draw considerable current. There may be some defect in the socket such as cracked ceramic or damaged wiring contributing to short life.

How do you replace the light bulbs? There is a lens cover over the bulb.

This is how to replace the lights on the KitchenAid khlu162m hood. If this is not you hood please give the right make and model # so I can get you the right info.

Replacing the Halogen
The hood liner uses 12-volt, 20

Before you begin, make sure that
the range hood is turned off and
that the lamps have had sufficient
time to cool.
To replace a halogen lamp:
• Remove 2 screws from the

lamp assembly.
• Pull the trim with the lamp
assembly attached down far
enough so that the lamp can be
pushed out of the socket clips.
• Insert the new lamp into the

How to replace a bulb for kd rangehood

This is for a smeg KD series, it depens on the model which lights are used.
Before performing any cleaning and/or
maintenance operation, disconnect the hood
from the mains supply.
According to the model, the hood can be equipped
with different kind of lighting such as incandescent,
halogen and neon lamps.
a) Incandescent lamps: E14 – 40W 230V lamps.
To replace them, remove the transparent fixture
from the control panel, unscrew the lamp and
screw in the new one.
b) Halogen lamps: G4, 20W - 12V lamps . To
replace the lamp, use a screwdriver to remove
the glass-supporting ring. Then remove the old
lamp and insert the new one.
Put the glass back, securing it with the ring.
c) Biax neon lamps: G23 11W lamp. Once the
fixture has been removed, remove the biax lamp
from its seat and support.
Put a new lamp in, performing the same
operations backwards.
d) Neon lamp: 15/18W neon tube. To reach the
neon tube, unscrew the glass framework screws.
Rotate the tube 90 degrees and remove the neon
lamp. Install the new neon tube and put the glass
framework back.

Hope this helps

Rangehood lights not working

I have a Fabyka Range Hood and know three other people who have had this exact problem (i.e both lights go out simulatneously but fan works fine). In my case I was able to pin it down to the transformer used by the halogen lights. This is an electronic transformer so it is less tolerant of power surges and such.

In the case of Fabyka the transformer is a black box connected to the inside of the hood with sticky tape with a black and white wire and two red wires. It is only used for the lights.

It is connected to the AC power via a black and white wire. you can disconnect this and us an LED power tester (about $2-$5 at most hardware stores) and see if you have power when you hit the switch.

In my case it is a 70W 120v to 12v halogen transformer. You can by a replacement off Amazon for about $12 including shipping or you can by a new one from Fabyka for about $30. I would suggest getting a slightly higher wattage transformer (I bought a 105watt for a dollar more).

You will need to disconnect the power before replacing but it is an easy fix.

1. Disconnect the AC power connector (black and white wires.)
2. The red wires coming out are the 12volt lines. If there is a connector, you can disconnect this, if not, you may need to cut these off.
3. Pull the tranformer off the back of the inside of the hood.
4. Cut the connectors off the old transformer. (Unless you buy Fabyka's.)
5. Connect them to the new transformer using wire connectors or crimps. (Make sure you connect black to black, white to white, and red to red.)
6. Make sure you have no exposed wires.
7. Connect to the corresponding connectors inside the hood. Connect the AC connector last.
8. Verify that the lights work properly.
9. Use sticky tape (or Gorilla tape) to attach the connector to the inside of the hood.
10. Enjoy the light.

Replaced light bulbs but no light

Original bulb has a JDR designation. I ordered bulbs and received bulbs with a JDRC designation, the brand was Hikari--these bulbs were shorter than the original bulbs and will not seat properly even after removing filters and turning bulbs by the neck of the bulb (porcelain section). Since they won't seat completely in the socket there is no electrical contact and they won't work.

The bulb is a JDRC E27. Google it and you will find various places to get it, such as or I would recommend buying 3, because if one has gone, the other will go very soon (my experience) and then you have an extra in case you drop one or one of them fails soon. Shipping will be the same, so the more you buy, the cheaper the per-item shipping. Home Depot does not carry them. Also, I don't know the differrence between the JDRC and JDR, so if you get the JDR version you may be displeased. Also, before getting the LED types, check the brightness... when I bought mine, the LED's were not very potent, so I stuck with the Halogens. However, they are very warm.

Dacor IVS1 Vent Hood - How to change a light bulb?, JDR120V-75W-E27CG...also comes in 50 watt. They aren't inexpensive, but if installed properly, will last a while. We have a little suction cup to take them out and put them in. It came with the range hood. If you get fingerprints on a halogen bulb, it can blow out quicker.
