Sometimes a lot of suds in tub will cause this cause lint and suds stick to the outer tub and is difficult to remove try filling the tub with hot water and use vinegar in the water half bottle let it stand for 5or 6 hrs .
Now drain the tub it should work.

Tips to keep the lint off the clothes

    • Clean the Lint Filter inside the dryer, before putting clothes inside.

    • Put your wet freshly cleaned laundry in the dryer (should still be moist).

    • If garment usually has a lot of lint, best way is to dry garment on
its own inside out this way no lint gets on any other clothes.

    • Put a dryer sheet (prevents static build up) in the dryer, two if
you like to overload your washer and dryer or are cleaning a comforter.

    • Set your dryer as indicated by the manufacturer of your clothes.

    • Let the dryer do the work.

    • Clean the Lint Filter again, after you have pulled out your clothes and secured them.

Do not try and fix the problem, if the machine is still under warranty, get it back to them to sort out!!

trying to fix the problem yourself could result in your warranty being "void" don't take the chance when you can get the problem sorted out for free

    best regards

i'm sorry we cannot do that, if you remove just "1" screw then your warranty has been voided and you will end up relying on us to sort the problem at some possible expence, not just on this site but parts and service, etc.
It is not recomened that you do not do that when the item is still covered by warranty.
what you need to do is use the warranty to get the problem resolved.
when under warranty a "quick fix" is not answer!!!

Where is the lint filter on Speed Queen...

You didn't say if it was top or front loading and did not include a model number. The model number is usually on a tag that is covered by the lid or door.
As far as I know most washers do not filter out lint during the wash but rely on the lint being suspended in the wash water and expelled with the dirty and rinse waters. Many do have filters in the drain that do need to be cleaned at times but the symptom is usuall a slow drain or not draining.

The tumble dryer bip and flash "empty water" even if no water. I have cleaned every filter (2 inside the big filter at the bottom of the tumble dryer) but still have the trouble

Hi,

I want to first make sure that your dryer is serviced up. so i want you to do these steps.
Most of the problems will be resolved doing these......

As clothes are tumble dried, they drop fibres. Most of this fluff is trapped by the lint filter and this needs to be checked and cleaned regularly. Lint also builds up in the vent pipe and around the electric motor in the rear of the dryer.

1.clean lint filter
989c696.jpg
Wait until the dryer cools, open the door and lift out the lint filter.
Gently brush off lint using your fingers.
On many models, the filter may also be washed. Check your manual for instructions.
If the filter is damaged in any way, you should replace it.

2.Vacuum area where lint filter sits:

The area where the lint filter sits should be vacuumed .
Remove the lint filter, and use a narrow vacuum nozzle to remove dust and lint from the fitting.

3.Clean inside the tumble dryer:
8dc9315.jpg

2210c2c.jpg
1. Make sure the dryer is cool, switch it off and unplug it.
2. Unscrew the retaining screws on the back panel, and lift it off. Vacuum the blower area.
3. Also vacuum around the vent pipe connection.
4. Replace the back panel and refit all the screws.

4.Check tumble dryer vent hose:
8d2299a.jpgWait for the dryer to cool. Unplug the vent hose and inspect its entire length for snags in the pipe.
Make sure the vent is not obstructed on the outside wall, and fit a flap or screen to keep out small animals.
If your vent pipe is punctured or damaged, you should replace it.

To avoid dryer problems,
Make sure the dryer is level and does not rock, and consult the manufacturer's instructions for the maximum weight of clothing to dry at one time. Also, make sure clothes have been spun-dry before putting them into the dryer.

This is just initial help,
Post your comments about how things turned up, Ill be giving suggestions based on your reply........

Thanx for using fixya,
Cheers.

My bosh next 700 series I not heating to dry the clothes I checked the vent and it not clogged inside and outside. Help pls

Try to reset the thermal cutoff, but should be no reason why it should have tripped.
The actual operating procedure is
The air enters the body of the dryer through the large opening in front of the dryer
Then the air is sucked past the heating element and into the tumbler. (the tumbler is the large bin holding your clothes).
Then after the air has circulated around the clothes, it enters the door and is directed down through the lint screen. (this catches lint from the drying process... some clothes producte more lint (such as towels) than others (such as panties) because the weave is more coarse.
Then the air passes through a duct in the front of the dryer (after the lint filter) and into the fan.
The fan forces the air into the duct leading out the back of the dryer, at which point it exits your house.
It is extremely difficult to tell you the problem without being there to eliminate any one of several things that could be the problem. First, when you have the dryer turned on and have the heat setting set to cottons, is there ANY heat at all? If you feel the door, and there is SOME heat but there is not much heat on the clothes when you feel them, the intake opening in front of the dryer is probably in need of cleaning.

While you should always clean your lint filter after each use of your dryer, you should also periodically clean the intake at least once every six months. If you do not, the air intake is eventually restricted and the drying efficiency of the drye is affected. Consult your owner's manual for the exact location of the air intake.

IF THE INTAKE IS CLEAN and clear of obstruction, and there is still not enough heat to dry the clothes, but the door feels warm when dryer is operating. Then this would imply that the exhaust duct needs cleaned out. This is something that definitely needs done periodically to prevent fire. The exhaust duct collects additional lint that the lint filter misses. While this is a small amount of lint, over a period of time, this builds up on the inside of the exhaust duct and prevents the flow of the exhaust which reduces the heated air flow around the clothes in the tumbler. This results in the air not flowing and not becoming warm enough to dry the clothes efficiently.

IF THERE IS NO HEAT AT ALL: Then there is a likelihood that the heater itself needs replacement. This is a costly repair and you will be wise to invest in another dryer instead.

The working process of your clothes dryer is a relatively simple machine. It brings in air, heats the air, flows the air through the tumber where the clothes tumble loosely with the heated air circulating around them, then the air passes through the lint filter as it exits out your home. The lint filter is necessary because those tiny pieces of fabric (lint) can collect in your exhaust duct and catch fire. This is the major cause of dryer fires. This is why you should also periodically clean out your exhaust duct. Even though you have a lint filter, the lint filter does NOT catch all the lint and lint will eventually coat the interior walls of the exhaust duct.

We have had a consistent problem with our dryer. The lint filter eats any staps in the dryer. I have found straps from bras, tops, and belts twisted around the lint filter. They get caught on the edge...

these componets support the front of drum and when felt wears away then clothing slips in gap and when dreyer tumbles clothing gets snagged in gap and tears clothing and leaves black scuffs

Why is my maytag dryer running for a long time but not getting my clothes dry, and the vent pipe its clean?

I note the vent is clean.... Now start checking for heat from that vent with the dryer on. You did not mention the model number so we at FixYa do not know if this is a gas or electric dryer. If it is electric cycle the circuit breaker to off (PUSH hard to OFF) then back on. There is a chance that only 1 breaker is connected. It would run and not heat.

Also the airflow out the back of the dryer should gently push a relaxed hand / wrist away from the vent outlet. If it does not do this you have an airflow problem. Look inside the dryer vent outlet for any signs of lint build up. You can have a clean vent but a blocked dryer vent inside the dryer. Go outside the house and check the thru the wall vent hood and flapper for lint buildup. This is a VERY common airflow restriction point. check BOTH sides of the metal flapper for lint. Lastly if after all of this you still have airflow problems the blower wheel hub can be broken or lint on the blower wheel.

Pull the lint filter and wash the filter with vinegar and water then soap and water. Fabric sheet particulate can cause restricted airflow. Also take a flashlight and look hard around the lint filter area for lint build up. Use a folded metal coat hanger to assist in lint removal along with a vacuum and crevice tool.

If you do not have heat... at all... after all of this; please respond with a model number so we can sort out where to go next in troubleshooting.

Thanks for choosing FiXya.

The dryer is heating but clothes aren't drying. There isn't much lint on the filter and the inside door and lint area is damp with wet lint spread around that area. It is a MDE5500AY model. Serial...

This just happened to us a couple of weeks ago, and we called a repair man. I might be able to save you $45 for a service call. In our dryer, the lint can fall out of the lint screen and clog up in the back of the dryer. Remove the back of the dryer (you might have to unscrew the lint screen too) and the ductwork inside the back (it's quite easy, I've now done it since my daughter dropped my sunglasses down the lint screen hole) just keep an eye on your screws. Remove the trapped lint, and vaccum out the hose, making sure there's no kinks in the hose as it runs to your house exhaust. Put the dryer back together and see if it works. If not, you've got a fan problem and will need a repairman. But apparently this is the most common dryer problem and will take about 20 minutes of your time to straighten out.
