I have a Palm TX. My palm will come on automatically, with a Versamail Alert. The alert says "VersaMail mail account Background send failed" Then a window pops up and says "Please reconfigure your account" Even though I delete all the messages, my Palm keeps coming on with the same alerts. Ron

SOURCE: Fatal Alert

Here is Epocrates answer: "... A fatal error when opening the Epocrates application typically indicates that one of our database files has become corrupt. HotSyncing again may restore functionality. If not, uninstalling and reinstalling our application should correct the problem. Other Fatal Error messages relate to not enough free memory on your mobile device for a complete installation or, your mobile device does not use the correct Palm OS version. Please verify you meet our minimum system requirements by returning to our web site, click Support, and then click System Requirements by your Epocrates application. Delete Epocrates Palm/Win from your mobild device. On your mobile device, tap the clock (located upper left corner of your screen), tap App then Delete. Select the following files (one at a time) then tap Delete. You may not see all of these files on your mobile device. It may take several minutes to delete a file. The file will disappear from the program list or your mobile device will turn off when complete. you gotta do a hard reset. i had the same problem. go to the palmone website and look up how. make sure you back your stuff up in case you can't get things back. once you perform the hard reset the error should go away.

Make sure you have over 25% remaining space on your HandHeld and tryagain. Otherwise try a hard reset: Hold down the power button and clickthe reset button.

SOURCE: How can I delete VersaMail from my Palm T/X? I never use it. Thanks

To get rid of versamail you can just delete the program off of your TX. No need to buy anything. You can also change the settings in versamail so that it only get email when you tell it to.

From the main page tap the options icon or tap the clock display near the top of the screen. This should pop up a window that shows delete beam send and so on. Tap the delete and another window should open. In alphabetical order there will be a listing of all the stuff on your tx. Scroll down to versamail highlight and hit the delete icon and it should go away. You should check of there are any other versamail parts shown and delete those as well. When you have gotten rid of them all click the done icon and you will be back at your normal display. If you look for the versamail icon it should be gone.

If versamail shows up again that will be due to the desktop trying to overwrite the palm. You can change the settings for that or just create a new backup ident when you hotsync.

The easier thing, would be to simply disable the conduit. Set the conduit to "Do nothing" via the HotSync Manager's "Custom" menu item and check the "Default" checkbox. Then the sync will just blow by the VersaMail conduit as if it wasn't there.
Or you can purchase Conduit Buddy:

Versamail Errors

hi first of all here are Support Knowledge Library links: http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,case=obj(39328) there are two main reasons your mail will not get sent from VersaMail: 1) The outbound email server is not allowing your mail through. The server thinks your email is SPAM. Go to the section on Outgoing Mail server issues: http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=95,E=0000000000299122694,K=3846,Sxi=5,useTemplate=Case.tem,CASE=39211#outgoing 2) You have entered some of the information incorrectly in your setup and need to check for typos and verify the settings with your ISP or carrier. follow all the instructions home page: http://www.palm.com/us/support/lifedrive/ good luck

Setup Versamail with Outlook 2000

I use Versamail with my web-based, non-work email account (which is what it sounds like you have - web-based at least). I don't sync Versamail, I just use it to dial in to my account and download/send emails.

Treo 650 is not syncing with outlook calendar, but syncing with everything else.

You may have tried Exchange ActiveSync in VersaMail When you setup an Exchange ActiveSync account in VersaMail, you are asking your Treo to synchronize email and your calendar with an Exchance 2003 server. In order to prevent duplicates, VersaMail disables Calendar synchronization via HotSync while the account exists on your Treo. So if you are an Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) user, you have a choice; you either sync wirelessly or you can delete the EAS account in VersaMail and can then sync your Calendar via HotSync. You cannot do both unfortunately.
