Printer won't print. Red ink light is on.

I just changed the black ink cartridge. Went to print and the red ink drop light is on and the printer won't print. When I press the green start button, the ink cartridges move back and forth and then the red ink light comes on. I don't have a manuel, so I hope someone has a solution.

Make sure that you have inserted the ink cartridge properly, it seems that you are not the only one with this problem

also when you try to give a printout from your pc the message will just pop up on the pc screen.as which cartridge is faulty.
it will read as -=----colour cartridge cannot be recognized---
or the black cartridge cannot be recogniozed----
just replace that cartridge which the pc shows up on the screen.

also try to remove the both the  inkjet cartridge from your printer and clean the brown colour dotted circuit gently with a tissue paper.and the same dotted circuit is present in the printer aswell just clean that circuit also.then OFF the printer without inserting the cartridge,.also remove the power cord from the back of the printer for 2 minutes.then connect it again ON the printer and insert the cartridges properly and check out the error light must go away.
if still the error continues that means the carytridges are faulty for sue and needs replacement.
if you have got the new black cartridge so now the time is for new colour cartridge to be replaced.

Prnter won't recognize red ink cartridge. When I push down on the cartridge the recognition light comes on, but goes off when I release to close printer cover.

My printer just died. The first indication of a problem was ink cartridges not being recognized. I replaced 3 in one night. The next time I went to print the entire unit just lost power and will no longer power on. From what I've been reading a bad print head can fry the logic board. At that point the only solution is to replace the board. For a 5+ year old machine and a logic board that will cost ~$100, it doesn't seem worth repairing.

I've changed the ink cartidges but the black and color ink lights remain on and it won't print. I think the E2 error message is on.

This hapens when refilled cartridges are installed in the printer. To rectify the problem, look for the 'Resume button' normally black with a red circle around an arrow head pointing towards you. With the printer powered on, press and hold this button down for about 10 seconds. The error code will usually clear and the printer will print but the orange lights will still flash.

Won't print black ink

Try to print with other colors. Change the font color to red. If that printed, then you need to change cartridge for the black ink.

I am having trouble changing the cartridge on the printer. The

im so sorry for the inconvineince that your having on this printer but let me help you.
if :
Red paper.jpg paper and red inkout1.jpg ink light flash alternately and green power.jpg power light is off possible problem: Paper may be blocking movement of the print head. Turn off the printer, then open the cover and remove any jammed paper or other foreign objects. Turn the printer back on again. If the lights are still on, that means the printer is having a hardware issue if: Green power.jpg power light is off; red paper.jpg paper and inkout1.jpg ink lights flash (quickly) possible problem: The printer may have an internal error. Turn off the printer, wait a few seconds, and turn it on again. If the lights are still flashing , that means the printer is having a hardware issue

Red light is on Printer will not work after moving

Someone printed in color. I know in the last 2 printers I had , the printers had a feature that wouldn't let you print if the other inks went below a limit. I think its supposed to make sure printer quality is high. My guess is to install the cyan cartridge and see if you can print now.

For future maybe you could get an all black cartridge to alleviate this in the future.

Black printing morphs into red after black ink cartridge installation

Your printer creates it's black by using ALL the colours together. This effectively gives a very dark purple rather than black.

It sounds like you have a colour cart that is drying up or may be struggling to get enough air into the cartridge. Make sure you have removed any tape over the vent holes if you are using compatible inks. If not then try running a couple cleaning cycles via the button panel/driver.

If you alter the settings in the driver by going into START - PRINTERS AND FAXES and then right click on your 2610 and select PROPERTIES - the changes you make in here will be set as the default settings for each print job.

DELL AIO 922- All in one- Printer won't print

Remove the right ink cartridge (color). You will get an error saying the cartridge is empty, but ignore that. Hit cancel on your printer. Print your job...when your print screen comes up, under preferences check the box for print colors in black and white. Your printer should print just fine without the color cartridge. Ignore the flashing red light.
