Lite-on DVD recorder/player;the DVD won't open to accept any DVD
I have a Lite-on DVD recorder/Player (LVX 5005). The DVD stoped working to open the DVD shelf. It sounds like it wants to open but doesn't. I took it apart and found the reset button but that was NG. I also reset the power and even left it totally disconnected with no power for a day, nothing when pluged into the outlet. Can I replace the DVD with any DVD writer or not and just chuck it out.

Try this hold button 5 sec longer. If not DVD may be jammed in player. Some players have a release pin hole near the DVD draw. You will need a long wood/plastic pin to trigger it. Do not use metal pins. (shock)...
What is the brand and model of your TV? Usually, you just need to press the VIDEO button or VIDEO/TV repeatedly until you see your DVD on it. It depends on which port you connected your TV. Make sure that your DVD player is connected properly. If you are using RCA, make sure the yellow cable (video) is connected to the yellow port of your TV and your DVD player. And also make sure that your DVD player is turned ON. If it still won't work, try a different cable.
good day, if youre saying that you program the DVD to work on channel 2 or 4 does it mean you convert the signal of your dvd player from A/V output to RF out?
because the simpliest way to connect your DVD player to TV screen is by using RCA cable ( 3 wired cable being color marked as yellow/red/white) yellow = video red and white = audio
the connection would be: from dvd back part you'll see colored socket yello/red and white. connect the RCA to those socket following the same color .
and from the TV screen there should be A/V input socket. can be locate at the BACK/Side or FRONT of the screen marked as "INPUT" ( AV1, AV2,AV3 if multiple inputs). Then select which input you want to place your DVD player ex.AV1 (from AV1 there will be 3 scoket in a row, yellow/red/white)
Connect the other end of your RCA cable following the same color code to TV "AV1 INPUT" yellow = yello/red =red/white=white. then from the remote commander of your TV screen locate a button marked as "TV/AV" or "A/V" press this button until the screen display switch to AV1.
If the DVD recorder has an RF out then you should be able to tune it on UHF bandwidth. The cable should run from the RF Out on the recorder to RF on the TV. Switch the recorder on, put in a DVD and press play before tuning. Some DVD's require a disc before a Menu appears. Good Luck, Regards, JUS004
I have this same TV. The DVD player is either hooked up to the video or
s-video input. Go to the Menu (either through the remote or from the
front of the TV) and select the Setup option. Go to the part where it
asks if you want to use a DVD player. Select yes. Then select Video
Input. Exit the Setup. When you hit the DVD button, it will switch to
the Video input. The second step is to go into the Menu and select
Channel, then go to Video Input Source. From there, select which input
you are using for your DVD player, the S-Video or the standard Video
(yellow composite cable).
