I have an HP C4180, less than 2 years old, worked fine and was quite pleased, but now it won't power on. We haven't had any electrical storms or power surges (and the printer is plugged into a power surge).
When I press the power button, no action and no lights. When I unplug the unit and plug it back in, the power button blinks orange twice as soon as it plugs in and the flashes occur quickly.
I tried a suggestion of unplugging from the surge protector and trying other non-surge protected outlets, and those have not worked.

Re: C4180 Won't Power On
Make sure the plug is all the way into the AC adapter. Then, you will need someone to verify the output of the AC adapter. You should have a 16VDC and a 32VDC output from the adapter. If that is good, you have an internal problem with the printer. If the output voltage(s) are missing you will need to replace the AC adapter.
Here are the specs:
Input voltage: AC 100 to 240 V ~ 1 A 50–60 Hz, grounded
Output voltage: DC 32 Vdc===940 mA, 16 V===625 mA

Unplug from wall for 30 minutes, then plug it in again. Power it on, and then PRESS CH UP & REC/QTR BUTTONS TOGETHER on your machine ~ (haven't tried it via the remote) Should then come up as "Pin OK" on the blue screen
I don't think it will give problems after that. Should stay unless you unplug for 30 minutes, the buttons won't reset the video.
Best bet would be to unplug it completely and let it sit for about five minutes, plug it back in and turn it on, if it's still flickering there's more than likely something wrong with the backlight or the power supply. All Insignia TV's carry a 2 year manufactures warranty, so if it's less than two years old just take it to a Best Buy and have it serviced. It'll be gone for a few weeks, but either issue is an expensive fix.
the only thing you can try to do: unplug TV, let it "reset" for a minute or so, then plug it back in. If that won't help, means: surrender to repair service. for 1 year, even with 24/7 usage, there is a slim chance for "bloated" capacitors inside of TV's power supply, but quite a good chance of your main board failure. Now a days they quite compact, packed with high temperature producing IC chips, led-free solder, which has drawback of "fatigue" failure. Or, there might be power surge involved. In any case, except "lock up", appeal to TV repair service. good luck, Alex's Television, 215-806-5980.
I hope that you've gotten this problem resolved by now... but if you haven't, it sounds like you have a blown power supply. You can contact HP at 1-866-my-procurve. Use caution as to how you tell you it died or they won't help you with this problem. They may be able to ship you replacement power supply or switch.
