Question about Kitchen Ranges
Jenn-Air Electric Slide In Range Model JES8750AAW S/N 13747281AG - The detent function of the right front burner infinite control switch does not work and the switch is always on. The replacement switch does not have the same wiring terminals and the wiring schematic supplied with the replacement part is not the same as the original switch. Is there a cross reference for the terminals? I cannot get help from Jenn Air and a Maytag repair service tech could not figure it out and left.
Wire colors to the switch are as follows:
1 Red (Term 4)
2 Red (Term 5)
Black (to indicator light)
Tan (Term 2)
2 Black (Term3)

check the burner socket, it is likely that contact is being lost where the burner connects to the hardwired portion of the system (the socket). It is not unusual for the socket to "burn up" when there is a poor connection to the burner resulting in the burner being replaced and the new burner not working or working intermittently.

Hello- First of all, congratulations on getting it out, apart, and back together again! There are two types of switches for this cooktop. One for the dual, other three are single. Wires can be a trick sometimes. Replacement switches look different sometimes, but work the same. If part is correct, check wire connections at contact points. Lightly crimp any loose ones. Partselect.com has the wiring diagram for JED8430. Let me know if this info helps- have more if needed. - Thanks- ED

The stove has 4 burner switches with a # 2 terminal on each switch. This contact is similiar on all four switches. One of the switches # 2 contact is stuck. The burner switch should disconnect both legs of the 240 volt circuit, one leg through the # 2 terminal and one leg through the thermostat built into the burner switch. Disconnect the pilot lamp wire on each switch unti the light goes off and then replace that burner switch. This should correct the problem
