Question about PC Desktops

My computer is not reading the nforce hardware from my motherboard. I have no onboard sound

"driver is enabled but has not been started" ... found that under the properties for my sound device. Googled and got the fix. Something to do with the Plug and Play Software Device Enumerator. Thanks for a prompt response, though.

Have you tried a different Monitor? Try another monitor to rule it out as the problem.

Do you have a video card, or onboard video.. depending on which one you have will determine what part you will need to purchase... if it is onboard video(built into your motherboard) then you may just be able to purchase a cheap video card and use that instead of your onboard.

Sounds like it may just be a monitor problem.

Sound card : Unknown SiS Hardware.... what would i do?

Check out System Information for Windows ( http://www.gtopala.com ) Download and run that.

If you have onboard audio: Go to Hardware>motherboard Look at your motherboard manufacturer and model. Go to the Manufacturers website, look up that model, download audio drivers for it.
If you have a sound card, then you need to find out the manufacturer and model of it, same thing- go to their website and download the drivers.

My unboard sound card is not working. In the sound and audio devices properties window it shows no audion device. How do I get this to work?

One option that you have is to re-install the drivers. Because this hardware is onboard, you will have to specify what model computer you have before anyone can provide you with help on how to find those drivers.

Once you download and install the drivers for your motherboard, you can go back to device manager to check the status of you audio. If it still doesn't work after re-installing the audio drivers, I would suggest that you totally disable the onboard audio and install an expansion card with audio ports in one of your open PCI slots.

If you will post a comment providing information about the model computer and/or motherboard you're using, it will be much easier for someone to help you find the appropriate audio drivers. From that point, you can figure out whether or not the onboard audio is still functioning.

Thanks for using Fixya!

848p-A7 motherboard Intel P4 Processor, system doesn't boot when swiched on

dude.. your problem may have different root causes..
in general what you want to do is the following:
1. make sure everything is seated properly and test
2. make sure your memory sticks are compatible to *********** board, installed in the right slot(s) and test again
3. make sure your power supply is working properly and power plugs are properly seated (use it in another systme or teste it with ps tester and test again

do you hear a series of beeps?, is there any video going to the screen? any errors??

uninstalled any new hardware you had and leave the system with the minimum to work. motherboard, video card (use onboard), sound card (use onboard) network card (use only onboard if any), mouse, keyboard. and test.

things to try before blaming the motherboard or the processor is to read check for bios updates or confim you're using compatible hardware for your mb, here's the link for the manual, drivers, updates from the manufactorer for your motherboard..

Sound problem.

SAMMY44,I have the same computer, and the same problem...we need to find the right AC-97 codecs for this type of computer...I found this out by typing the motherboard number on google..Its a real pain in the but to find the codecs for the onboard sound card...your best bet is to buy a pci slotted sound card,or other wise,,you can be like me,,and try try to know your computer on the inside.and try to find the codecs yourself that way if you ever run into this problem again,,you'll know what to do!!!
