You need a male to male VGA lead to connect your laptop to a tv, make sure that the tv supports pc first, if not most DVD players supports karaoke

hope this helps

Vga to tv

Hi,

The answer to your question is Yes. You can use a VGA to RCA converter and view the output on your TV. I am assuming that you are using a Inspiron 1200 laptop. Couple of things you may need to check.
1. Toggle display using Fn + F2 (Hold down the Fn key and press the F2 function key), this will toggle the display between Laptop, TV, & Laptop + TV .
2. Right-click on desktop, goto display properties, make sure the second display is set to 800x600 or 1024x768, these are the only display resolution supported by analog TV’s

Hope this helps. Please rate your feedback!
Thanks,
VJ

HAVE YOU TRIED SYSTEM RESTORE? IF YOU CAN DO A RESTORE TO BEFORE YOU USED IT FOR YOUR TV IT SHOULD BOOT BACK TO THE TIME PRIOR TO ANY PROBLEMS. THIS IS JUST ONE FIX. THERE ARE MANY THINGS YOU CAN DO. JUST TRY THIS FIRST AS IT IS THE EASYEST. IF THAT FAILS GET BACK TO ME AND I WILL RUN YOU THROUGH HOW TO GET IT WORKING IN A LONGER VERSION.YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD DRIVERS FOR NVIDIA AT NVIDIA.COM. IF YOU KNOW THE VIDEO CARD YOU HAVE.

Problem hdmi connection

Hello, I'm from the Netherlands and I had the exact same problem with my philips lcd...

So what I did, was upgrading the software of my videocard (nvidia.com),this resolved my problem of giving a error on my laptop and restarting.

Then I got the message on my tv: "video not supported' , this I don't know exactly how i resolved this, but i tried fn+f4 a couple times. If that doesn't work you have to do something with the nvidia control panel (right click on desktop).

So now i had picture, but no sound.

To enable sound from your laptop to your tv you have to go to control panel>sound> set the SPDIF to your standard sounddevice and tick the box with wma audio something, tick out the other boxes.

I hope this will resolve some of your problems and others who have the same problem.

greetings,

Sam

Resolution problem . . . .

Resolution is normally set from the "Personalize" option of control panel. Under display settings it should say something like "Generic PnP monitor on NVIDIA MCP67M" above where the resolution slider is.

If this has changed to "Generic PnP monitor on (unknown) then your problem lies with the display driver. Visit Nvidia's site for the latest all in one driver for Vista that is suitable for your laptop.
