Monroe Calculator 7130 - won't print red for negative
Brand new Monroe 7130 machine, was printing the negative numbers in red, not sure why but now all numbers including negative print in black only. I tried reading through the manual and it mentioned something about the Set up key and entering a numeric code, but nothing we tried worked! Can you help us?
Re: Monroe Calculator 7130 - won't print red for negative
Have you remove the tape that used to fix the ribbon cartridge since the time you get the Monroe 7130?
If you do remove the tape, please try to take out the Ribbon Cartridge and install it again, by refer to the description of 'Changing the Ribbon Cartridge' in the Instruction Manual.
The printer lift may stuck and need to adjust.

While in the D position or PD position, N Count is OFF. In the N Count N position every Plus, Minus, Equals Plus, Equals Minus, Memory Plus or Memory Minus key depression is counted. The Accumulator and its N Count or the GT N Count can be printed by depression of the Subtotal or Total key. When either Memory Subtotal or Memory Total is depressed, Memory N Count will print. N Count is always printed in red, left justified. If the Equals key is depressed immediately after the Subtotal Total, Memory Subtotal, or Memory Total the average of the entries is printed. When the N Count prints on the 7150, an audit symbol will print to the left of the N Count. The audit NA will identify the Accumulator register N Count, NG will identify the GT register N Count and NM will identify the Memory N Count.
I bet your display is showing the correct ans, however your printer is printing incorrectly. Settings have nothing to do with your ans. You need your printer to be cleaned or have the printer replaced with a rebuilt unit. I can do this... 608-222-2484...
Even you turn off then turn on the calculator, the 'E' still there?
As I know, when 'E' display, if any key is stuck (press the key and it never pop up), all other entries will be ignore, until u release the key stuck.
And, please confirm the printer is not stuck.
We repaired many Monroe 7130...this could be logic problem..maybe something on the logic bd. ...coke , coffee, etc. etc. staple, paper clip.. but in all probably you may have a printer gone bad.. You can always shake your cal to see if you have dropped anything on the logic bd... but always turn your machine off before you do this...this problem has happened only once or twice..we would try a another printer unit and isolate if it was a logic or printer and go from there...good luck 608-222-2484
It sounds like either a corrupt print driver installed on your pc or the incorrect one. Make sure you have the correct driver for your machine and download another one anyway in case your one is corrupt. Delete the one you are using first before installing the new one.

Could be 2 things:
Either the 3rd digit of the number wheel is sticking or the solenoid for the 3rd digit is dirty, stuck or bad.
You can take the cover for the paper and see if the wheels are turning. Enter all 8888888888's and keep hitting +, this will make all of the wheels turn. If the 3rd digit isnt moving, then you can try to take a very small drop of light weight machine oil on a small flat tip screwdriver, and place a drop on both sides of the wheel that is sticking.
Enter all 8888888888's again, and keep hitting the + and see if it gets any better or starts to move.
If the wheel doesnt turn at all, then the solenoid might be stuck and it will be a lot harder to reach to service it.
