Question about Dryers
Dryer stopped working in dry cycle. Discovered that ground strap was broken(now replaced). Did not work. Discovered the spring loaded start button had a broken internal sliding part to start switch that when pressed closes the circuit to start the cycle and when released leaves the circuit open. When the slider was broken it left the circuit closed full time. (slider now repaired and functions properly). The door closed indicator has been tested with voltmeter and functions properly. The heater coils which are controled from part of the push to start switch heat properly. I used the voltmeter to test the cycle selector contacts and found resistance at 3 different locations with the dial in three different setting positions. I suppose the cycle setting dial is ok. I checked for blockage in the blower tubes and found no obstructions. Still, when plugged in, the motor makes no noise nor will it turn. I checked the wheel/armature of the motor for obstructions and it spun freely. I see no damage/burns on the motor from heat or wear. I just don't know what else to do or check to make this machine work. Please help!!!
