Question about Samsung SRS20DTD Side by Side Refrigerator
Bought this used, ended up calling a repair company for this issue -- $210 more to "fix" and still not cooling. I have NO confidence in them except in their ability to continue taking my money! Is it worth fixing??
I have tried resetting by pushing power cool buttons simultaneously, unplugging for 5-10 minutes. Freezer side works like a charm. Fridge side cycles through different temperatures (according to computer panel) but never actually cools. Same issue BEFORE the tech came.
Technician replaced a defrost thermostat. He did have to de-ice the refrigerator side first. The fan is no longer blowing so I'm assuming it's iced up again. Should I replace the main computer board, I've been told that they are problematic. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

You have to pull out the sensor from the board and test with tester, both sensor should read the resistance of 10,000 to 20,000 ohms. The reading that you show is very low it means that the thermistor is out of range and need replacement.

I have a Samsung side by side refridgerator and experience the same problem every couple of months. I am usually able to fix it by making sure nothing is blocking the vents which circulate the air at the back of the freezer. Sometimes we cram soo much food in there that the circulation stops and things keep from getting cold. What I believe is actually happening is that the temperature sensor is in a bad place (right next to the output vent), so that if the circulation shuts down, the temp sensor still thinks its cold when the rest of the fridge is not cold. In response, the freezer turns off because it thinks it is cold when it is not. In my situation, the freezer temp sensor said it was still below freezing even though everything in the fridge was melted.

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)
