Question about Olevia LT32HVM 32 in. LCD Television

Olevia - heard loud snap/pop and Ant input not working right and Power up probs

Hi there,

I saw that you responded to another person that appears to have the same problem that I'm having wiht my TV. I would like to know if the you could read thru my issues and let me know what you think the solution is.

First, after having the TV for about a year I moved it across the room and was going to plug the Cable Cord into the Ant input on the TV - as soon as I did there was a huge SNAP/POP a blue flash and since then I cannot get the Ant connection to work. I can turn on the TV, select the source to Tuner but it tells me there are no channels in the list and if I try to add or search them it either by auto set up or manual it just doesn't find them I gave up on it and have been using the composite connection for my cable.(about a year now)

Second issue is that yesterday I was going to connect to the TV via the VGA cable - Same thing happened - huge SNAP/POP but now the TV doesn't seem to have a picture or problems powering on or something. I've got the blue light on when the TV is off - when I turn on the power it appears as if it's going to work just fine but then the screen stays dark and never lights up to the Olevia opening screen etc...If the TV is on I can't see anything, I can try to change the video input source but it doesn't do anything - also nothing will display if I try to get pull up the TV system setup - Basically the TV is on but the screen is black.

any help you could offer me would be fantastic! Just figures that this would happen 1 because I'm unemployed (stupid downsizing) and am freaking about cost to fix and 2 because I'm unemployed and home all day now with no TV.

Thanks so much

Hi,
Possibly ZSUS or YSUS boards are gone for this kind of problem, please check at shopjimmy.com for required boards and new lcd tv is rather better than repairing this plasma tv.
Thanks.

The calble is connected directly to the tv, not through the cable box & when i try to change the channel it says "no signal" at the bottom left corner. Olevia 32" model 532-b12

I assume from your question that you have a cable subscription and that you have the cable plugged into the ANT input via a co-ax cable. The ANT input is for an antenna for over-the air signals. The channel up/down change the internal tuner up/down. For example, if your cable is set to channel 3, it will pull in the cable on channel 3, but then try to pull in over-the-air if you hit channel-up to channel 4.
It seems you need some kind of converter box from your cable company in order to change the cable channels, and then that converter box would plug into either the ANT input (and leave the tuner on 3) or into one of the other inputs like Component, HDMI, SVideo etc.

Pop sound then no picture, just sound

I assume this is a plasma TV? You will have a fuse blown on either the Y or Z sutain board, there is also a possibility one of the driver IC's has blown on the buffer board, this will shut down the screen & leave the audio working normally. You can check these boards which sit on the left & right hand sides of the screen.

Olevia lt 27 hv no sound

one way to test the audio on the tv is to connected a cable line or ant.. and see if audio comes out on the speakers of the television.. if they don't then go on the menu under audio and make sure the speakers are not turn off..

If you get audio with the ant or cable channels.. then the television speakers are on.. now you might want to try the sat receiver with different connections an example will be AV cables.. yellow, red and white.. to see if that works ? make sure the red and white are right next to the yellow input or else you wont get audio..

If you will like more help.. you could also contact this company called Amergence Technology they have trained technicians that have knowledge for Olevia products.. there number is 866-965-3842
