The AI prevents your Anti Virus(AV) from installing. The Anti Virus requires that you uninstall the AI before you can install your AV. Have you tried installing other Anti Virus software rather than what you have?

What the AI in your system anyway?

Hi,
1. What anti-virus software are you using?
2. What browser are you using?
3. What service pack of Windows Xp are you using?

You may try:
Uninstall your current anti-virus
Restart your computer
Go to: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download
Click on Download
Install it and when doing that check the checkbox for then scanning your PC if it is not checked.

This anti-virus is from Microsoft Corporation and it is FREE*.

After installing escan antivirus in window vista pc show the physicaly memari dum

Try using a FREE*, normal anti-virus from Microsoft Corporation:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download
Click on Download button in the page and installl it, but before that please close any open programs and uninstall the escan anti-virus. By any open programs I mean open folders, any other installations, just go to page, click Download, run it, then close your browser.

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

When Installing choose the non-pro version.

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:

My cp keep freezing up with the question [error reporting] this happens all the time ,does my cp have a virus ,it only happens while searching the web

sound like a program is trying to connect to a host machine, if you installed any new software just before the program started ( Even games ) uninstall this and try again, if the problem persists run a anti spyware program as this can be a trojan virus.

Downloading

Hi kja2 ,

2 anti-virus software can not co-exist on a computer system ; therefore you did the correct thing by uninstalling the old anti-virus first . However , there are lots of anti-viruses which do not get deleted (uninstalled) by going to Start > control panel > Add/Remove program. These anti-virus have to be removed by special "uninstallers" . I do not know which Anti-virus you have on your system , therefore I will provide you with the link of most common anti-virus uninstallers :

Symantec: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
McAfee: http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/displayDoc.asp?docID=408302&categoryId=246&lastCategoryLog=1&HotT
Trend Micro: http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-1033129

once the antivirus is removed through the uninstaller , then try installaing the new anti-virus which was giving you "files corrupt" message ... it will then work fine.
Also , . I would like to suggest you a very good anti-virus which you can download free of cost from internet :

Goodluck :-)

Windows 2000

Probably is some incompatibly of the anti virus software, you can try to uninstall the anti-virus software, if you can uninstall it, try to delete the folder where the anti virus is and restart the machine, you can do that using a dos boot disk or any OS that is in a Live CD, like Bart PE, Ubuntu and etc, the easiest way is to use the Win 98 boot disk, but you have to know some DOS commands.
I you can't do that try to format and reinstall it, but use another anti virus i recommend NOD 32 from eset it's light and work's fine.

About antivirus

Go to add/remove programs, uninstall, restart your computer. Now install your antivirus. See if that works if not contact your antivirus vendor, or techsupport for your antivirus.
