There are numerous sites that have memory advisors that will tell you exactly what kind and how much memory your system can accommodate. As previously requested, you will have to have the model number available as a minimum.
You can retrieve just about everything you will ever need to know about your system's configuration with an excellent free utility named Belarc Advisor you can find here:

I can not install my Pretec Sram Card 4 MB in my Laptop with Windows Vista. A message Found New Hardware... appears when I insert it into the PC Card slot. Then the Computer asks a driver but I did not...

If your device drivers are up to date, the card slot should recognize the S-ram chip. If the S-ram was found and the computer said it needs to be formatted, that means the S-ram is not prepared to communicate until you do a Format of the chip. AS mentioned, the Driver is most important. Go to the Device Drivers in Windows and look in the list for the section relating to USB. Check each by highlighting the line and look for UPDATE. Hit Update and let the computer seek for data.

I bought an AC333X64/1024/16C memory card and my computer is able to recognize it but the computer runs very slow. Is this the right card? Thanks Steve

If this is an upgrade or an addition to the RAM slot, you better be sure of the RAM(Memory module) already installed on your pc. Take the already installed RAM and look for it's speed(mostly printed on the either side) i.e, 600 MHZ, 800 MHZ and see if it matches with the one you bought with respect to its speed. If you are not pretty sure, google the make and model and seek for info.

Possible Reasons for system running slow:

> Installed a RAM which is incompatible with the curretly allocated one.

> RAM speed conflict. Old RAM : 600MHZ, NEW RAM : 800 MHZ

> If neither of these could solve your issue and you have installed RAM with the same speed config., it can be related to your temp files and folders. Do a Disk Defrag or Disk cleanup to speed up the PC.

I guess you might be facing an issue with incorrect RAM installation. Please check back with your seller.

Speed Of Computer

the PC is most likely bloated with lots of useless software, viruses, malware etc, but upgrading ram will give the biggest increase in performance, I would reccoment atleast 1 GB for windows XP systems and 2 GB for windows vista systems.

Acer Aspire 3680 too slow

Sure but if it has acually been slowing down you must also find the problem. Have you disk cleaned up and defragged your hard drive lately. Cleaned out all the junk from your internet exploier?  Have you gotten rid of everrything that you don't need or want. Slowest thing in a computer is the Hard drive seek/read time.
According to you manual (Link below) You can have up to 4GB total memory. Two strips of 2GB each soDIMMs

Nec ready 120lt parts

You need a Type 2 PCMCIA card for this laptop. I was able to find a wired one here. Be sure that your OS will work with the card you choose. Also I have no experience with that website, so buyer beware. Another good place to find older computer parts is eBay, happy hunting.

Failed to work

althogh dont know how you reset the ram, unless you mean bios, check that the onboard sound in the bios is dissabled, then remove the card and put in a different pci slot and then if the drivers are already installed it should be found and installed automatically after a reboot of the system. As for your neighbours husband, i shall try to seek approval
