You'll have to go to either properties/settings in your printer utility to disable that function. If you have trouble getting to that point, let me know

I have installed a new ink cartridge but it still will not print saying it is out of ink

The low ink warning if you are using remanufactured cartridges.Even if you aren't, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. The warning can usually be bypassed by clicking the “Resume” or “OK” button, or by disabling your ink level indicator. Here is a link on how to bypass the warning on Canon cartridges that may help:

New ink cartriges in MP350. Still saying check ink. Why?

If you are using remanufactured cartridges, the low ink warning is normal. Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. Unfortunately, when the cartridge remanufactured the cartridges, the chip is unable to be reset. Here is a link that may help you bypsas the warning for Canon printers:

If this does not help, there may be a setting in your printer preferences where you can disable the ink level indicator.

Canon MP460 will not recognize its own brand ink

Try removing the installation of your printer then install it back again. If you do not have the drivers, you can find them on Canon's site.

Hope that will help!

According to the information on the website, you should be able to press the Stop/Reset switch for about 5 seconds to disable ink level monitoring on the empty cartridge.

New ink jets showing low ink

Because they are cheap!
It doesn't make any difference your printer will still print. If you get a message saying out of ink, cancel it and continue printing, till you start seeing signs of no ink, then replace them.

Canon mp460 not recognising replaced ink cartridge and cannot get rid of alarm code

hi guys,
BTW, did you refill the cartridge?. First, try to press START button (Black or Colour). Perform this procedure for each cartridge. If the problem still persist there some possibilities: cartridge error, carriage part or logic board is faulty. Then you need to replace faulty part.

Error message U051 on canon MP460

Check the Label on the cartridge if it covers a certain area then you will get an error message. Compare it with a good cartridge the label should nearly touch the lugs at top end. Only applies to refilled Carts.
