Question about Panasonic PT-47WX42 47" Rear Projection Television

"Just" aspect missing?

Hi, I purchased my set from a friend of the family and it had all the aspect options functioning perfectly fine - 4:3, zoom, full and just. Several months have passed and now for some reason I cannot get the just aspect anymore. It just cycles through the other ones and does not even display this. Is there a way I can get it back, as this was obviously the best way to view many of my channels?

Picture on screen is too big head of people are cut off it does not show complete picture

Use your cable or satellite tv remote to adjust the aspect ratio. If you have cable there is a button on the remote called hd zoom and it has this symbol: #. On the satellite tv remotes it usually says format or aspect. You might even have to go into the cable box/satellite tv receiver menus to adjust the aspect ratio/picture format. Once you have done so you can fine tune the picture even further with the television remote's wide/format/aspect/zoom button. Also check and make sure your television is on the right input and that your cable box/satellite tv receiver is set at the right resolution for the television 1080p/1080i/720p.

I want to know how do i zoom or un zoom my tv because each input i pres 1 2 3 or 4 the tv is zoom too much and i cant see everything i should be seeing

there should be a button on orignal toshiba remote that says "wide" "size" "format" "aspect" something like that press until either the setting says "full" or "standard" those are the 2 best to use they will fill the screen the best and do the least amount of distortion to the video. you can also check the menu and look for a submenu that is for changing those different options good luck

I cannot see football stats on bottom of screen. mitsubishi wd-62627 setting is hdmi 1080i standard. help!

either your TV or your cable/sat box(if any) is on zoom(enlarging pix). Look for buttons on both remotes that might say picture size or aspect something like that...Pressing these buttons usually cycle thru 3 or 4 size options. When in zoom center of screen is the focus and outer edges of pic are cut off.

My tv is on expand mode and i cants see some stuff

It's in a zoom mode?
There's usually an option in the TV's menu that allows you to change the aspect ratio/zoom on your display. If that doesn't work, then there's POSSIBLY something wrong with the set itself.

New Samsung 1080p TV not displaying Full 1080 from PS3 Blu Ray movies

Hi hsaucier,

Although you have a wide-screen television, it is possible the video you are viewing was recorded in an even wider format. The bars should be smaller than if you were viewing the same DVD on a TV with a 4:3 aspect ratio, but will likely not disappear unless you view the DVD at a zoom setting. Many movies are shown in theaters at a wider ratio than 16:9, and the Blu-Ray disc has probably retained the entire picture rather than cropping it to fit your screen.

I recommend trying different viewing options that zoom in slightly. Be aware that this may cut off part of the picture from the left and right sides, but depending on your personal preference, you may not notice anything missing.

Thank you,

Model 51f59a hd widescreen aspect settings dont take and picture too big

I called Hitachi and the solution is in your cable remote not your tv remote. Your tv has a aspect menu as does your cable remote. Based on your cable provider you should have a settings or menu button to change the zoom or aspect of your screen. I had the same problem and have Comcast as cable and this worked for me.

Wrong aspect ratio!

It was the zoom !! I lost the tv remote, I went to Radio Shack for a Universal remote and they didn't have one with a Zoom button,
The tv menu doesn't have a Zoom button either...Finally found one that works and all is WELL! Depending on what the tv station transmits, the screen size changes in the auto-matic selection in the menu.

Aspect Function Not Working

Normallly, if the picture size button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made. For example: A Motorola Cable box needs to be set up to go to a wide screen or zoom when an analog signal is detected. Some Dish Network boxes have Size buttons on their remotes and also in their main menu. It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the types of the peripherals. Hope this helps.
