Not recognized by computer

When I connect the Pocketstudio 5 to my computer (sony vaio), which is new, or any other computer with windows it does not recognize the Tascam. There is no way for me to transfer my music, so i have a dilemma. Is there a patch or something i can download so my computer will recognize the device?

There is a menu on the left with all the documentation, as well as downloads of their software updates.
This product is discontinued, so no further support will be available from the manufacturer.
