My msi motherboard is defective. I got a used P5P800-VM motherboard which i want to use. I did connected the ps, hdd led, reset led wires as well as the fan and the 20 pin power supply, but no lights come on or no effect on the monitor either. No sounds from hardrive or cd drive. Looking for a manual of instalation instructions, sure i need to plug in some other wires too.

Memory should be same as the one that is in the motherboard . Each motherboard support only one type of memory. Search on the internet for the type of motherboard for memory supported with it. If it says other than DDR2/ DDR3 then the motherboard wouldn't support the memory. Do some searching like motherboaed p5p800 and see few websites for specification for the motherboard, check the memory specifically for the details.
