I have the same problem but mine was imported brand new from America via a postal address i had to set up. The problem with mine is it fires but most ov the time doesnt fire a nail the pin misses the nail then stays out? Must be a fault with the lining up ov the nails? The touble is i can send it back now as Dewalt dont ship direct to uk.

so when you plug in the battery does the headlight come on and remain steady (no flashing) and the motor run but the tool wont actuate?

also, check the driver blade to see if it's down or up

I have both the DC616 and 618 and have used them sucessfully for about three years. Two main things go wrong. There is a drive belt that breaks (drives the spool that give the energy to drive in the nails), second are two small rubber bands on either side of the drive head that break. The bands can be accessed by taking off the front silver cover, the drive belt is access by spliting the case. Make sure you are using the correct nails or the drive pin may become bent and will jamb repeatedly. Hope that helps!

I hope I answered your question. I assumed you checked to see if there was a nail jambed in the nose peice. If there was the motor won't run and the lights will just flash. If the motor does run and no fire then my answer should help.

I am having a little different problem, first it has not been used very much and I have not tryied until now to fix it. the unit is a Reconditioned one.
there appears to be no jamming or bent rod. I have the face off and the bands look good.
I pull the trigger and the light stays on for 10 sec. with no blinking
When I depress the nose the light blinks once and a gear moves ever so slightly, the one with the 2 bands.
No fan turns on just the blink light and tiny **** movement.

Have you put any oil or wd40 into the gun. i did this just to clean the gun up a bit and ruined. went to get it fixed and they said these machines run on friction so any lubricant is a no no. do not rty and maintain these guns with any lubricants. cost was about $300 to fix so i just got another one.

If there is a nail jambed between the firing pin and nailers that would do it If you've already checked that try oiling it or the firing pin it'self could be broken. Also most (not all) of the battery operated nail guns require an air cartrige to force the firing pin down I don't know about the dewalts because paslode is my brand but it is very small and sometimes it is hard to find.

N88rh bostitch nailer fires first shot without trigger depressing

Worn orings in the gun and the trigger valve will cause the gun to fire upon connecting the air. It is a good practice to remove the nails when you remove the airline until you can replace the trigger valve. I believe that you gun uses a TVA6 valve. It should be replaced when it begins to leak or if the trigger pin seems loose and rocks from side to side. Factory valve costs about 25 dollars and aftermarket sells for about 12 to 18 dollars. Good luck

Why doesn't the trigger do anything on my NS289000 framing nailer?

Nailer not firing is caused by lack of lubrication in the headvalve (lube with white grease) or driver stuck/bent (make sure driver moves freely) or safety foot not depressing the firing pin on the trigger valve all the way in. Easy to check. Remove the trigger to expose the firing pin. With no nails in gun, connect air and depress the firing pin with finger all the way in. If the gun fires, adjust the safety foot. If the gun does not fire, lube headvalve and check driver piston stuck. Good luck

Dewalt dc618 wont fire

firstly its always better to change both of the bands even if one is broken this always keeps the drive trim.all seems well clean all the contacts ie battery and gun (do not use any cleaning products this will cause grease)just wipe clean with paper towel.

Worn trigger valve orings will cause gun to fire twice, and /or attempting to single fire nail with bump-fire trigger. Easy test, look closely at firing pin under trigger. It should fit snuggly an not move from side to side in valve. If loose, replace valve. If your nailer has bump-fire trigger, do no attempt to place gun then fire one shot because the gun will most likely double fire. Good luck.

Paslode impulse framing nailer , iv cleaned gun and oiled , the fan works etc . seems to only fire if i have fully charged battery ,once used for about five minutes it stops firing . only way to get it...

When it stops firing is the little light on the side of the handle green or red? If it is red then the battery is draining down too quickly. Either the fan switch has malfunctioned causing the fan to run all the time (I have seen this before) or you got either a faulty battery or charger.

Your nailer is a very heavy duty nailer with very powerful blow. Works best with full size nails, not 2 inch range that are used in fencing, they are not spaced correctly for your gun (like hitting number 6 nail with sledge hammer). Open side door and remove the nails, leave the door open and dry fire gun against piece of rubber or old coiled air hose. The driver should return all the way up between shots and the feeder should move back then forward just as fast as the driver moves. If the feeder seems to move in slower motion then pull feed piston and replace orings and remove debris from feed cylinder. If the driver seems to stick out further than normal then lower bumper could be breaking up causing debris to enter feeder. Make sure that the driver is not bent and has a squared bottom, if rounded, remove and grind square. Finally adjust the depth control up or down slightly and bump fire for test, do not place gun on the work then fire. good luck

There are 4 orings that cause this problem. Two are in the trigger valve installed on the firing pin. The firing pin can be seen just under the trigger, however if you replaced the valve, you could assume no problems with the trigger valve. I would take apart the old trigger valve and examine the orings on the pin. The pin should fit snugly in the trigger valve cap and also in the valve. If the orings look good and it does fit snugly, most likely valve is still good. The other two orings to suspect are installed on the cylinder inside the nailer and make contact with the bulkhead (white plastic piece that seals the cylinder note parts reference 55, 74, 11 on the parts list). For parts list and to order parts go to www.toolpartsdirect.com Good luck with your repair.

I would look at the fuel cell on the bottom is a expiration date and they will not fire older fuel. Also do you remove the battery and it does the same thing? When you depress the safety on the work can you hear the fan motor? You say the tool is clean does it have enough lube to move all items freely. Just a couple thoughts, Also look at the spark plug wire for being broke or coming out of the spark unit. Let me know and we will go into this deeper.

Paslode nail gun not firing

Hi,
Yes you need to oil driver blade piston.
You need to check for spark. With no nail or gas in it. Take of main cylinder(4bolts on top, 2 bolts on nose. And then put in battery. And then push upper switch(behind roller at top) and the fan will come on. And then pull the trigger. You should have spark.
Thanks,
Jeff
