D-524 wont reset and gets no\limited connectivity and...
Cant get to the admin page of the router. I tried all the different reset procedures but all i get is an ip of 169.254.197.224 and a mask of 255.255.0.0. The computer is set to DHCP. I tryed to manual IP using 192.168.0.1 and the copmuter took it without saying there was an IP conflict. This all happend after I tried to reset the Dlink with the computer plugged in. Also I have never done a firmware update. Mine has a HW version B4 with a FW version of 2.03. Any help would be much appreciated ^_^

reset set the modem first. then connect the one system to adsl modem. type 192.168.1.1 in browser. enter user name&password.go to interface setup tab-internet--select bridge mode--save and reboot. now remove that take router connect to system type 192.168.1.1 in browser. enter user name&password.go to
interface setup or advance setup in that wan tab or internet tab select dynamic ip and lan page give different network address eg-10.0.0.1 for router 10.0.0.2-...254,255.0.0.0,10.0.0.1 save and reboot it will work or just call 08041478653 , 9740575949
If it will not accept it
>Make sure your computer is wired or connected to your DI-524
>Try going start>run > type in CMD
>on the black screen type in ipconfig and hit enter.
>Look for the Default Gateway that would be the IP address that your DI-524 is using.
>Click Start>All Programs > Accessories > click on command prompt
>type in ipconfig
>Look for IPV4 for the Default Gateway and that would be the IP address of your router.
If not allowing to access the login page, try pressing the reset button for 15 seconds at the back of your DI-524 but pressing the reset button will reset the setting of your wireles setting. Once your press the reset button type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar and you should be having the login page. use Admin/admin for the username and leave the password blank and click ok...
Try to reconfigure your wireless network on your DI-524.
To access the configuration page of your router by Default type in on the address bar 192.168.0.1. On the login page by default the Username is admin and leave the Password blank.
If inside the the configuration page of the router
> Click on WIRELESS located on the left side and you will have the wireless setting of your network > Change the wireless network name > Under security choose either WEP or WPA -PSK for this type of router. > Type in your new network key (also know as Passphrase of Key1).
For WEP use 0 to 9 Number or A to F character and it should be exactly 10 characters. For WPA-PSK you can use alpha numeric from 0 to 9 and from A to Z. The minimun character would be 8.
> Click on apply > Click on continue. Try accessing your wireless network first using your wireless computer. If you are connected to your wireless network try connecting to the Internet.
The default username for this router is "admin" without the quotes, and the password is blank (don't type anything.) If that doesn't work, it may have already been changed, in which case you can soft reset the settings to factory defaults by using the reset button on the back of the box.
Try a hard reset. You need a straightened paper clip. The Recessed reset button is to the right of the unit's power socket. Press and hold for 10 seconds and then release. Wait 5 minutes for it to finish rebooting and stabilise. Then try you admin login again.
