loses sim card connection and constantly loses GPS signal. Tapping the phone sharply on the bottom of the display restores GPS. I think is either poor connection to main pcb or antenna is loose. Would like to know how to get covers off so's I can take a look-see.

SOURCE: Cect P168 not dectecting My sim Card

I had the same problem, I bought the usb data cable ($4.99 from TechXDirect free shipping) and use it to charge the battery so I don't have to take out the battery and don't have to deal with insert SIM card any more.

SOURCE: where do I put the sim card in and how do I charge the battery

Hi,
Kindly go to the following link and download the user manual for the device
http://www.scribd.com/doc/4614820/cect-p168-english-manual?autodown=pdf

The SIM card slot is located beneath the battery pack. To access the same , you would have to remove the back cover of the device and remove the battery . The instruction for the same are given on page 14 of the user manual.

To charge the battery, you need a compatible charger.

Thanks

SOURCE: do you need two sim cards for the cect i68 unlocked

No. Just one. You can run 2 if you want - it's a Chinese phone thing.

Only emergency calls on my unlocked CECT i68 3g phone.

This phone is a POS.  Sounds like it can't read the SIM card, and therefore only 911 calls are available.

Cect i9 not working

Take the battery out, towards the bottom left are 2 slits (sim one and two)

The **** closest to the back is sim2 which the card goes in with the gold chip facing you, the other **** next to it is sim one, with chip facing away from you

This phone is NOT 3G compatible (it's just it's name ...) if your Tmobile card is 3G it will not work. All CECT phones are factory unlocked !

NOT READING SIM

If your phone has a dual sim card then the sim 1 card is the top slot and the bottom is the sim2
slot. Give it a try

Cect P168 not dectecting My sim Card

The "insert sim" error is a common error. Usually it is caused from putting the sim in incorrectly.

Try this. If this is the one with the sim card ports that are on top of eachother than put the sim card in the port closest to the phone with the gold side pointing up.

Insert battery, turn on phone.

On the phone, go to the main menu. Tap phone settings. Tap dual sim settings. Tap to open sim 2. Go back to the main screen.

If that does not resolve go back to phone settings, tap dual sim settings, tap to open sim 1, go back to the main screen.

If this is the type of phone with the sim card ports seperate, insert sim with gold side down in either port. Go to phone settings, tap dual sim settings, tap open dual sims. Go back to main screen.

If this problem persists than either the phone or the sim is defective. Test the sim by putting it in a phone that belongs to the carrier the sim came from. If it works in that phone it is not the sim.
