Question about Computers & Internet
I have recently purchased a new keyboard (well, i wouldn't exactly sayit's new to me, because it's the same as my old one. i needed to buy anew one because the other one got old).
It's Samsung Pleomax PKB-7000x Crystal keyboard.
It's great, i love it, but now.. i have this issue.
somehow, i have no idea when or how exactly, i have apparently deleted(by accident) that certain driver that makes the multimedia keys onthis particular keyboard- work.. (volume control, windows media playercontrol, etc.)
everything else seems to work fine, though (all of the "normal" keys and everything else in it. it's just the multimedia keys.
I'm guessing that this driver came along with the keyboard i purchased, but the thing is- i never installed anything on the computer.
I got the keyboard with no special instructions or an installation CD,and in fact- the only thing i needed to do in order to make it work wasto plug it in the computer..
Somehow, i guess, it just installed itself, in a way, when i plugged in the keyboard for the first time..
When i plugged it out and in again, nothing had changed.
No reset, hard reset, reset back to factory settings, or anything, for that matter- helped.
It's like it is just.. gone.
(the weird thing is that i had never seen an installed driver that'snot there today.. so it's just.. strange. plus, as i said before, everything else on this keyboard works perfectly fine)
I had tried to download IntelliType by Microsoft, but due to the factthat the keyboard isn't a Microsoft keyboard- there is a problem andalthough i can now control most of the multimedia keys- the mostimportant keys: the volume keys, can't be "controlled" through theprogram (i checked online, it's just a thing about IntelliType. that'swhat happens whenever there's a keyboard that's not right..)
The Volume control was the main thing i loved about this keyboard, andI've been looking for a way to fix this issue for months now..
I've tried logging in the Pleomax website, and yes, there is in fact adriver for this specific keyboard, but it's not what I'm looking for,at all.. believe me, i tried, several times.
Nothing i have read or tried to do ever worked for me.
I've tried googling it, and saw many people with the same issue as me, but no solution.. :(
I only need the multimedia keys control back.
Please, guide me so i could fix this annoying issue
I had this problem with a Microsoft keyboard for ages. I tried everything, including the HID services DLL. Eventually I found that connecting the keyboard to the PC via x1 usb connector was the problem.
When I used the Purple connector to connect to the keyboard PS2 socket, and used a USB - PS2 mouse adapter to connect the mouse to the green PS2 socket everything works fine.
Hope this helps.

Try going to the start menu and then run type in msconfig in the box and click the last tab at the top labeled startup check and see if the device description is in that list if so make sure it starts running on startup by checking the appropriate box. restart and valla.....
Hope this fix ya
