Reset you router and try again. To do that insert a pin into a small hole situated on the back of the unit and hold a few seconds (all the lights will turn on)

Check your connections.

I cannot figure out how to hook up my Belkin Wireless Router. I've tried plugging different cords in different spots and all that jazz and I just can't get it. I got this router from a friend and do not...

First, power down your computer and disconect the power cable to the cable modem.

Install Ethernet cable from the WAN/Internet port to the Cable modem's WAN port.
then install an Ethernet cable from port 1 to your computer. you can use ports1,2,3,4 for different computers.

Then power up the cable modem, then your computer. You should be able to get on the net.

Setup belkin wireless network

Hi,
1.Connect a Cat5 cable into the Ethernet port on the back of your cable or DSL modem. Plug the other end of the cable into the "Connect to Modem Internet/WAN" port on the back of the Belkin Router.
2.Connect a Cat5 cable into the "Ethernet" port on the back of any desktop or stationary computers and then plug the other end of the cable into one of the LAN ports on the back of the Belkin Router. Start with port one and work your way up with subsequent computer connections.
3.Turn the Belkin Router on by plugging the router into a power outlet. Allow 30 seconds for the router to fully boot up. All computers tethered to the modem via a Cat5 cable have access to the Internet.
4.Open the Wi-Fi Wizard on your laptop and turn on the Wi-Fi antenna. Once turned on, the Wizard finds all network connections in your area. Connect to your network to establish an Internet connection. Complete this step for each computer not tethered to the Belkin Router with a Cat5 cable.

Howto set up netgear router to my computer?

Turn your cable-modem (or DSL-modem) off.
Turn your computer off.

Unplug one end of the Ethernet cable from the network-port on your computer.

Plug that end into the WAN port on the router.

Take another Ethernet cable, and connect one of the LAN ports on the router to the network-port on your computer.

Turn the cable-modem on.
Turn the router on.
Turn your computer on.

Done -- the 'default' configuration in the NetGear works, 100% of the time.

Cable and wireless question

Not possible, since the "input" to the 2WIRE modem is a 4-wire telephone-line, not an 8-wire Ethernet cable.

Instead, spend about $40 to buy a D-Link Wireless G modem, and connect its WAN port to the cable-modem, and connect up to 4 Ethernet cables to "wired" computers, and configure the "wireless" component of the D-Link router.

Can Connect to internet via cable modem, but cannot connect from Cable Modem to LinkSys WRT54G router to PC to Internet ?

1. Make sure your cable modem is connected to the Internet port of the router.
2. Your computer should connected to one of the 4 ports at the back of the router.
3. Check the lights that are lit. Make sure the you have power(steady green), Internet, WLAN and Ethernet port light.
4. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 15 seconds.
5. After 15 seconds, release the reset on the router and turn it off.
6. Turn the cable modem off, too.
7. Wait for a minute. Turn the modem ON first. Wait for the lights on the modem to be ready.
8. Turn on the router. Make sure you have good lights on the router.
9. Check for Internet connectivity.

Im not able to connect to get the belkin router to connect to the internet

Make sure that the router is connected to the cable modem. The network cable from the modem goes into the Internet or WAN port of the router. Then your cable from the Ethernet port onyour computer goes into any of the ports labled 1,2,3,or 4.
after you are sure that the connections are right. Take the power cords off of the cable modem and the router. Wait 30 seconds, then plug in the cable modem in first, wait till the light are on the modem. Then plug in the power to your router. Restart your computer and you should be able to get on line.

I have two computers that I want to share my cable internet connection. When connected directly to the modem the first computer conects to teh internet fine. But when I connect the computer to my Belkin...

Perhaps one of your ethernet cables is bad?

When everything is connected, the "WAN" light on your router should go on, as well as the lights for whatever network connections your are using for your computer.

Obviously the cable that you used to connect your computer directly to the modem is working, so try replacing the other one.

My wireless router works, I set it up correcty, it can be detected and it connects to local area connection, but every time I go on the internet, it tells me that my home page and every other page cannot...

It seems then that your connection from the pcs to the router is ok but your router connection to the internet is not. If you connect directly to the modem, is it ok?

You must enter your isp logon info into the setup of the router. (especially on DSL connections requiring logon info)
or
There is a cabling problem with your router to your modem. Make sure that your modem is plugged into the WAN port of the router and (if you have one) the WAN light is on.

Antenner sign on my netgear not flashing carnt get my laptop or my other p.c to conect to internet?

Be sure the cable from the modem is plugged into the "WAN" port on your router.

Unplug the router, wait a minute, then plug it back in. If that doesn't resolve it, contact Netgear support for a possible replacement.
