The old radios might hard coded programmed. You need a computer cable KG22 and the software KPG75D. I converted my 3130 to the 3131 which was previously programmed to a retail store. Now I'm back to FRS/GMRS instead of the business freqs.

Look at the user manuals for both radios and compare the frequency assignment for each channel. find the ones that match and program the radios to talk to each other.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I have a number of Portalk xls 3230 hand held radios from a number of years ago. Just bought 2 more. Can I use them together and how?

if they all operate on the same frequency there will be no problem
if there is take them to a radio repair shop, and have the frequence band adjusted to the base station frequency

The antenna sheath on my Kenwood TK-3131 FreeTalk XLS is broken. Can this (spring) antenna be replaced? How to? My others screwed in.

I do not know this specific radio model. However, most of these have the spring (antenna) soldered onto the main board. That is the antenna. Find a broken radio and carefully remove the sheath (antenna cover) and glue it on. In the meantime, you could try a number of things since they do not sell the parts: triple wrap in high quality electrical tape (HIGH quality). Use RTV sealant and "mold" your own using a screwdriver or tools of choice. I made one this way, them wrapped it in tape. Do not use anything metallic or with metal in it. But GMRS radios are pretty much limited in parts. All brands.

Kenwood Protalk tk-3200U8P won't receive nor transmit. Red Light comes on when talk button is pushed. Any suggestions?

Hmph, Kenwood, I had a Kenwood and they still use the same method, there is a small wire from the board to the base of antenna connection, it broke and the RF zapped all its chips. I am afraid you will have to take it a dealer.

Here's a link to the user manual - http://images.kenwood.eu/files/prod/1567/5/TK-3301_Instruction_Manual_B62-2154-20.pdf

I did a quick scan and could not find the answer in it, but it does give a lot of information about programming the radio.

I need to know what replacement antenna to get for my tk-3130

I found the manuals at:
http://www.hitechwireless.com/products/Kenwood-TK%252d3130-ProTalk-XLS.html

This radio is a UHF radio but it doesn't saw on the site what the frequencies are or the type of antenna connection, BNC, SMA, ?
The manual shows 464.5 MHz to 467.925 MHz so an antenna for 464 - 468 MHz would do.

Manual also at: http://kenwoodusa.com/
Contact form at: http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Contact/
See if they have a replacement antenna for you.
