Question about Bissell 8910 ProHeat Clear View Upright Vacuum
I have a Bissell Pro Heat deep cleaning carpet cleaner. I also have pets, which means even after running a sweeper, there's still a certain amount of dog hair in the carpet.
I was steam cleaning the carpet, and a clump of wet dog hair got sucked into the Pro Heat, and the motor sound got "muffled". It still works, but I feel like it is not working at full power. I took off the clear window on the front and cleaned it, but could not find the glob of dog hair that is slowing it down.
Called Bissell, and the lame answer I got was..."If it's still working, then don't worry about it"!! I was in shock at that stupid answer!
Is there a way to clear the hose or whatever part that the dog hair clump is stuck?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Why the motor sounds muffled I am not sure. When the water is sucked up, it goes directly into the tank. The motor only creates the suction so it can do that. There should be a filter on the rim of the recovery tank lid, is it clean? Other then pulling the top cover off, and then the motor cover so you can inspect the motor, I really don't have a good answer for you. I t may be that that clump of hair when down the chute and into the fan, I have seen that happen with vacuum motors before.
