Your thumpin noise is most likely a flat spot on your drum rollers. open the door and remove the 4 screws ( 2 on either side ). this will allow you to take the front panel off. after that is removed, there are 4 3/8 nut screws that hold on the front bulkhead. remove those screws and lift up on the bulkhead to remove ( note: you may need to remove the 2 nuts screws and brackets that secure the top so you can lift the top up ). after removing the bulkhead, you will need to undo the belt ( easiest if you do it from the back ) and take out the drum. your drum rollers are on the back of the dryer on the bottom. you can visually inspect them and if they are bad, they will need to be replaced. There is a loud thumping noise when the driver is working It is still drying the clothes

The drum turns on a track in the front area, it is turning on two wheels in the back side. Probably one of the wheels has bad bearings and isn't supporting well, flopping around. Assuming this is electrical type, just have someone remove a panel in the back to see if that's it.

It just help the drum does not make noise if it touches to the cover when the drum has heavy load. You can clean it up and forget about it.

if you cant see a belt about 1/4" wide around the drum, there will be a mark where the belt was on the drum before it broke, remove front panel and restring belt around the drum, then replace front drum piece that holds the drum in place and then string belt around idler and motor pulleys and replace front cover

Kenmore Dryer 110 is making a loud squeaking noise.

Only a few things will make that noise. The squeaking is caused by a moving part having trouble turning while rubbing against a fixed part.
  1. The idler pulley is worn
  2. The drum support rollers are hard turning on their shafts
  3. The felt seals at the front or back of the drum is worn allowing metal to metal contact while turning
  4. An article has fallen into the housing around the blower wheel and the wheel is rubbing on it.
Listen for the frequency of the sound. The drum rollers and drum felts will squeak at the frequency of the tub turning. The idler pulley turns much faster as does the blower wheel. Knowing this will help pin down the cause.

Dryer making very loud noise.

We had the exact same noise all of a sudden start coming from our 2 year old dryer. We checked everything, rollers, pulleys, motors, etc. I was certain it was coming from the upper left. Finally we found a loose screw had fallen into the front felt ring. Problem solved!
Good luck.
