Question about Panasonic PT-50LC14 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Panasonic PT-50L14 50 lamp has no obvious defect

No picture or sound blinks green then red. Bulb has no defects to the untrained eye. Is this still the most likely problem?

My first step would be to check the owners manual under troubleshooting for the lamp code for blinks green then red. I suspect the problem is in either the ballast that drives the bulb, or the bulb (P/N TY-LA1000) itself - you can't usually tell a bad one from a good one by looking at it. The ballast is difficult to replace, and I would call in a repairman to fix it if a new bulb didn't do the trick.

There is an additional problem,

if the bulb had been replaced by a technician, call them back and ask for additional support, since they did not fix the problem.
