Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV
I purchased the tv 2 years ago. It has been used alot so when the first problems arised I figured they were do. The lamp indicator came on so I ordered a new one and replaced it. And it worked for about a month, but now it seems to be an intermittent problem. Usually, it will have sound then power off without the lamp igniting. If you keep trying to turn it on, eventually it will seem to work. The lamp indicator led doesn't always come on when power on fails. Is the replacement lamp faulty, something bigger, or any combination of items?
It can be the lamp. But the color wheel and ballast can cause the same thing. Put your ear to the back of the set when you push the power button and you should can here the color wheel start up. If not, that is your problem.
Now if the lamp is not lighting up. you should here a ticking sound from the back of the set, if not the ballast is bad. If the lamp is coming on and then going out after only about 5 seconds AND you do not here the start up of the color wheel, the color wheel is confeirmed bad.
