Question about Sony KP-51HW40 51" Rear Projection Television
We have ordered a green blub and red bulb and my husband is going to replace them. He would like to find an online instruction manual on how to do this. Could you tell me where I can go to find this for a Sony Projection TV Model #KP-51HW40 made in 2002. Thanks
Befor replacing the green CRT (bulb) you have to check focus pack adjustment.
You have to remove the front panel so that yo can access to the the focus pack.
Theis the big piece with six rotating knobs.
Green must be on the bottom line knobs. Rotate clockwise untill you get a good picture. If this does not work, replace the CRT.
All this operation should be performed by a technician.
While lamp replacement in rear projection tvs is a level operation, replacement of CRTs is not.
You will still need to regulate the focus pack after a new CRT installation.
If you haven't purchase the CRT yet, I suggest asking the price for a warranty extension to sony.
This will cover replacement cost, and cost approximatively the same price as the replacement CRT.
If you want to call Sony you can use the number listed on the user manual.
