This may be related to the antitheft system The system is known for turning off the starter and/or injectors when it fails. Is there a light on the dash that says SECURITY? This is a common problem worth looking into. http://www.diy-gm-security.com/
I think you mean either ABS or SRS.
ABS refers to the braking system so this would need investigation....I.e.check brake fluid reservoir and for signs of leaks round brake pipes and wear on pads.
SRS supplemental restraint system...usually airbag warning light. They should go out after 5 seconds on start.sometime they can be reset by using various techniques like leaving the driver door open...turning the ignition on but not starting the car... Then pressing the door light switch button on bottom of driver door opening 5 or 6 or 7 times and turning off ignition All within 10 seconds.(you may need to experiment with this number )always hold the door light button in on last count whilst turning ignition off.then close door restart car.wait 5-7 seconds then it will reset unless there is actually a problem with airbag.this can occur when you disconnect battery or replace battery.the interruption can
alter airbags sensor.also some sensors are housed in the horn component of car horn and the spring on horn can interfere with the sensors normal operation. So did you recently remove battery or use horn excessively ?finally if it is an airbag fault and the light remains on it may mean your airbag will not deploy and your seat belts won't lock in a collision scenario.best in that event to get to a garage.if thus is of help please vote thank you.
Have you tried draining the power of your computer? Often performing power drain resolves any display issue. Please follow the steps below for the basic instructions on how to perform a power drain.
1. Turn off the system completely. You may also press and hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds until system turned off completely.
2. Unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet.
3. Remove the battery from the system.
4. Now, press and hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds.
5. Plug in the AC adapter to the power outlet and put back the battery inside the computer. Try turning on the system.
Pressing the power button for more than 3 seconds causes the system to reboot. Holding the button shuts the system off, so in essence, you are turning the system on and then turning it off. Try holding the button for 3 seconds, listening for the system to beep, then remove finger from button. If possible, turn system on with controller. If problem persists, repost with more information.
Your fuel pump is on it's way out. it's common to happen in the winter time when your gas tank is low on fuel and gets refilled. What happens is the piston in the electric fuel pump wears after a few years of service, as the amount of fuel in the gas tank will moderate the temperature of the fuel pump. When gas is added in the winter, the gas is much colder and makes the piston and cylinder sleeve contract since it's made of plastic will contract much faster and when the fuel pump is reactivated. The clearance between the piston and cylinder have a lower tolerance, causing the fuel pressure to drop. This is why you may have to energize the fuel system twice by turning the ignition keys on "engine not running" for 5 seconds and then turning it off again and turning it on again for 5 seconds and then start the engine. You can have the garage check the fuel pressure and check the pressure bleed down time, which would help indicate for you to replace the fuel pump. But start with the simple and replace the fuel filter, this may get you more life out of the fuel pump. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted nad please rate.
