Re: Turning off the system

Demo mode is on. Read the user manual, there's suppose to have a "Demo" button on the unit. Press the button after you put the set in standby.

How to remove timer

If the unit is controlled by a remote, the symptom you are experiencing could be cause by a function only available on the remote. I discovered this with my Yamaha 5-CD disc changer. However, my unit doesn't have an integrated Stereo. Your unit may mean that the remote handles more features. Search for a button that says MODE or AUX. If you still have the User Manual with the system, check to see what these buttons describe as controlling which features. Check back with me.

I turn the unit off and in about 6 seconds, it turns itself back on. In order to keep it turned off, I have to unplug the unit.

Look on the front panel or remote for a button labeled "DEMO". The unit is probably not turning fully back on, but going into a demo mode that scrolls features across the front display.

Check with AIWA they might be able to supply the Operating instructions free. Some have them as a PDF on the website.

JVC TH-V70 Shuts Down

Even after disconnecting the speakers, the systems shut down, means that there is something short inside the set. Normally, the output amplifier section circuits will have the short. The set need service, and may have to replace the audio output IC of audio secion. Contact the nearest JVC authorised service center at your town. OK.

My Aiwa cx-nma545 keeps turning off.

Your system is in 'Eco' mode. If you are in this mode, and go 10 minutes without playing a CD or cassette, it will automatically turn itself off.

Here's how you get out of 'Eco' mode:

1) Go to the jog wheel assembly
2) Press 'Eco'
3) Press 'Enter'
4) The display will show "Eco Mode On"
5) Immediately turn the jog wheel, to turn the status from 'On' to 'Off'

Cd door will not open

same thing happened to me. turn the system off, unplug it. then back on and after you switch to CD mode (for some reason the CD tray will not eject unless in CD mode), once the system tries to lock on to a specific CD tray, hold the eject button down for 5 seconds. that worked for me. may have been dumb luck but can't hurt.

Turns itself on

Hey there, you actually need to press the Stop /-DEMO Button when the device is doing the demo will take about 8 seconds and it will display "DEMO OFF" and turn off. This procedure needs to be run everytime there is a power failure OR you unplug it from the wall.
Pressing the Stop /-DEMO while it is on will cause it to start the demo while it is running!

Turns off immeaditally after turning on

these units are designed in such away they are very suseptible to power surges, Brownouts. And a lot of times they just stop working through no fault of the user. A transisors or capacitor fails and the unit just does not work properly and goes out. The issue is generally the unit is priced so if you took it to a repair shop it would cost between $50 to $100 Dollars to repair. If they can get the parts to repair it or if it can even be repaired cost effectively.
