The large green and smaller green and orange buttons are all illuminated. I believe it may be a port issue but I can't seem to figure out which port I need to be using to make it print. I'm using a USB cable connector.

It sounds like you have unprinted documents in your print que that need to be cleaned out. click on the arrow on the bottom right side of your screen next to your clock in order to view it. find the picture of the printer and right click with the button on the right side of your mouse on top of it. Open the print que and choose all printers. If you see documents in this area, click on them one by one and delete them. After they are all gone, close the print que and try printing something. this should solve your issue.
Check the paper tray settings and make sure they are alinged with they type of paper you are using. (Ex. Letter) These settings have to be perfect in the tray so the printer knows what paper is in there. Usually when this happens the printed is asking you if you want to use the tray anyway and by pressing the button you are saying yes so it prints. Try loanding the manual tray with letter paper and see if the same thing happens.
Be sure that there is a cartridge and paper installed. The 1300 cartridge is chiped so that it "knows" when it's empty. It may just be that it thinks the cartridge is empty and it wants a replacement. email@example.com with questions.
