Keep getting mould in the seal of my bosch front loader as well as dirty m

arks on my clothes from inside the seal (I think). It could be grease. I leave the door of my machine open to help it dry out and keep wiping out the seal. I use exit mould on the rubber seal but know this isnt good for the seal or the environment.

I have front loader washing machine and the rubber has got mould and having difficulty in removing the black mould

  • Saturate an old cloth with white vinegar. Alternatively, you might use petroleum jelly on the cloth to remove the mold.Pull the gasket out gently with your hands to reveal the mold and mildew buildup inside the folds of the gasket.Wipe the mold away from the gasket with the cloth. Continue working to wipe away all mold from the folds of the rubber gasket.Dry the folds of the gasket with a dry cloth when you finish removing the mold.Repeat this procedure at least once per month to prevent mold and mildew from forming. If you notice mold occurring more frequently, clean it off when you see it.

  • Tips for Preventing Mold & Smelly Problems:
    • Always leave the door and dispenser unit slightly ajar after the laundry is done. Front-load washers and the detergent/softener dispenser drawer must dry out.
    • Never leave a wet washload in the washer overnight; remove it when the washing cycle is complete and leave the door open.
    • After a load is done, always rotate the drum with your hand to see and remove all items. Some could be sticking to top or sides of the washer drum.
    • Use softener sheets in the dryer instead of liquid softeners in the washer.
    • Liquid detergents may leave less residue than powdered formulas which may not dissolve properly.
    • Use less than the recommended detergent level for your load. Too much detergent can cause a residue build up. Experiment until you find a minimum measurement that delivers a clean wash. This is also a money saver.
    • Occasionally wash some loads such as whites, linen and towels in warm or hot water to help flush out wash residue.
    • Always clean your washer as per your product manual. High efficiency front-load models have a cleaning cycle and it's imperative that you periodically run this cycle as directed.
    • Check the gasket just inside the door opening and remove any visible debris. You can also wipe it to speed the drying process.
    • Always use HE detergents with high efficiency front-load washers. Specially marked HE laundry detergent is low sudsing and is recommended for these low-water washers.
    • If this advice was helpful a vote with the thumbs up would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is mold on the rubber seal of the front loader washer. If I fold it back to see the drainage holes, there is mold there too. I wipe out the front now, but the washer usually smells even tho I leave...

First, wipe down the affected areas with a bleach solution and hot water. Then run a long, hot cycle with the maximum amount of bleach in the dispenser. You may also leave the door open between loads as you did before, but run a dehumidifier in the room too. Mold cannot grow without moisture.... Hope this helps! Handiest1 10-1-10.

How do I get rid of the black mold on the door gasket?

If you take a bit of tilex mold/mildew spray and a rag, you should be able to remove it all.
Also , look down at the bottom of the front "gutter" just in front of the tub. There is a series of drain holes and clothes lint can build up a bit in here. take a towel and wipe the holes really clean . This will help keep the water draining out of the front and keep the moldy smell to a minimum.
One last thing, I've found with my front loader, that if I keep my wash loads to a medium full size instead of completely jammed full load size, the drain/mold issue is almost non-existent.
Hope this clean it all up for you!

There is mold around the rubber and in the inside of the rubber on my Front Load. How can I get rid of this? Is there a product to clean front load washers?

    Hi.

The mold is an enzime from the washing detergent or softener. It attacks certain rubbers and causes them to turn black. Eventually it will cause a musty smell which will go on the clothes.

The only way to remove is by replacing the door seal.
If you try bleach etc then it will cause the mold to get worse.

    Hope this helps

Mold on the gasket of kenmore duet front loader. have run the clean cycle, and scrubbed the gasket and inner liner also

This is a common problem with front loading washers. To prevent this issue leave the washer door slightly ajar after use. It will promote air circulation and prevent mold.

    Mold found in washer

where ever there was moisture run washer for white wash hot/hot with bleach full load or if u have sanitary cycle this should get any mold or algae under drum and entry to pump with front loads its recommended to either wipe excess moisture off seal and or-- leave door open for a few hrs to let seal dry (not advisably with little ones around)--

Yes unfortunately that rubber gets molded or gets cut . For mold you can try wiping it down with bleach with a rag. If you do it regularly it will slow down the mold. it's annoying but it helps
