You will find it hard to obtain dismantle instuctions for any laptop, dismantling laptops is mostly trial and error and takes carefull planning.
the best way to dismantle a laptop is draw a diagram as you take it appart, this is beacuse the amount of screws so you have to take notes pertaining to where they came from aswell as other hardware like mini-pci cards etc.

good luck with your project

SOURCE: i need to replace the DC jack on my laptop

Do Not Attemp to Replace the Jack Unless You Have Experience with Soldering... The Original DC Jack Must First Be Desoldered and Removed... You Need A Desoldering Pump or Solder Wick (braid) To Remove the Old Solder From The Jack Post Pins..... DO NOT ATTEMP TO RIP OUT THE OLD JACK!!!!! You Will Pull The Contact rings from the center of the motherboard out and render the motherboard useless...

Slowly and carefully Unsolder the dc jack, Remove it and Clean the board.... Very Important to Clean the Motherboard after desoldering the old jack.... You Must Remove all old Flux...

Then Apply a light layer of fresh solder to all the contacts on the motherboard....

Apply Flux paste to the New DC Jack Pins and a light amount onto the contacts on the motherboard....

Insert the new DC JAck Into The Slots and Apply Solder to all points on the underside of the motherboard....

Flip The Motherboard Back Over, To THe Side Where THe DC Jack Is,, and Apply Flux then a light amount of Solder To The Side Pins and Back Power Pins ...

Then Clean the Motherboard off again using an Electronics grade circuit board cleaner (found at radio shack) or a tiny amount of denatured alcohol applied to a paper towel .. THe Purpose is to remove any remaining Flux..... as this will just deteriorate the New Solder over time unless cleaned off...

Good Luck

Even though the best thing you should have just done is to take along with you the AC Power Adapter that came with it, so as to get the exact replacement, but I will still tell you the best one for your PC.
Try and Make sure that the specifications for the one you will buy meets the this output power rating :
DC Voltage : 20V
The Current should be : 3.0A.
Product Number : 76-011651-5A

Hope this helps you out.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: how to replace dc power jack for toshiba p15

Take apart laptop and see what type of jack is on your system. There are two types. one is soldered on and the other is a module that connects to the motherboard with a wire connector.

If you have a soldered on type the you will need to de-solder it from the board then solder a new one onto the board. most ac jack issue just need to resolder it unless the jack itself is broken.

Hi There,

I'm a pro laptop rebuilder. I use the site below quite often for manuals unavailable from the manufaturer. This link is to a page that lists all Fujitsu manuals they have available. Your exact model is not listed. However, I've found that one in number sequence directly before or just after the model# I'm needing will usually be so close as to do the job well. All $5.95 US and immediately after paying with PayPal you get to the download page for you manual and can begin working. Good Luck.

Yes it needs soldering on to the motherboard.
You need to fully dismantle the Samsung to get to the power jack, unsolder the old one and solder the new one onto the motherboard.

Toshiba Satellite L505-LS5014 made a popping noise and then turned off. It had done this 10 minutes before but this time it won't turn on. Any ideas on what's the problem and how to fix it?

The problem may be in the DC jack in the laptop, sometimes solder touch up or DC jack replacement is required. the computer will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level to address this.

GATEWAY 4024 WONT POWER ON

Remove battery and try again, if no! the DC jack in the laptop is a common problem from no power to intermittent power. The Laptop will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level to address the DC jack, chances are it has bad connections on the flip side of the board where the plug is.

How do i power up my acer ferrari 4000

Remove main battery and try again, if nothing! check power adapter for correct voltage, If okay! sub out the ram memory one at a time and test, still no change! the DC jack is often the source of trouble and the laptop will need to be dismantled down to the motherboard level, the DC jack will probably need resoldering.

Change dc jack / no power indicator

It does sound like the DC jack, you will need to dismantle down to the motherboard, chances are the jack pin is not making proper contact with the main board, "the board is double foiled" when board has been completely removed you need to resolder the points where the DC jack sits. This is a very tricky repair and to involved to give step by step instructions, I recommend a professional.

The DC Jack seems to be loose, I've tried two different AC Adapters and discovered that they are in fact not the issue. The screen will show constant switching between power mode and battery mode at times,...

More likely than not the DC jack will need to be desoldered from the mainboard and replaced or the whole mainboard replaced.

Without warranty coverage you're looking at around $75 for a qualified tech to solder a new DC jack in or the full cost of the computer (replacing the whole system) as parts for the Eee PC's are prohibitively expensive and motherboard/mainboard replacement not really an option.

DC input jack broken

Yes it's not usually something that can be repaired at home. Your chances are better if the jack just seems loose and not actually broken, however replacing it is better. I work for a Laptop Repair Shop in NYC and we deal with this issue frequently.

Power Jack

Most, if not all computer manufacturers do not include these instructions, & for good reason too. You should not attempt to replace a DC Jack if you are not very technologically savvy.

Repairing the actual DC Jack itself requires you to strip the notebook down to the motherboard. From that point you will need to de-solder the old DC jack (very carefully) and then solder a new DC jack to the motherboard. After those steps are complete, you need to test the power using a voltmeter. If the voltage matches up to that of the computers you can continue. After you have finished all of that the only thing left is to put the notebook back together.

More detailed instructions as well as photos can be found by doing a Google search. Try entering the make and model of your specific notebook.. Who knows, you may get lucky and find a link with how-to photos.
