I accidentally disabled my laptop monitor while trying to use another one. How do i turn it back on? dell latitude 610

You should be able to disconnect the external monitor, and then restart the computer to recover your defualt monitor.

If not see if oyu can move your mouse around enough to see the mouse on the second monitor, from there it depends on which operating system you have. That particular dell has XP...

So you would right click, go to properties, Settings tab, then click on the monitor you want to activate. Look for the check boxes, and click extend my windows desktop onto this monitor, then check the use this device as the primary monitor.

I have a Dell Vostro and would like to lock the laptop and use a monitor and wireless keyboard whilst at home. Can you tell me if and how I can do this?

This is assuming you are using Windows 7. (Since you didn't specify. -_-)
Software lock at same time = No. Hardware lock at same time = Yes.
When you have the keyboard connect and the laptop plugged into the monitor, go to your Windows Mobility Center. Go to "Power Options. Look for "What to do when you close the lid." and tell it to do "Nothing".
Then close your laptop and lock it.

The screen automatically turns off even though the laptop is on..

First i need to know if the screen comes back on if you move your mouse. Because if it does the update changed your settings for power saving. To change this, either check the screen saver setting to make sure that is not on blank screen and if that is not the case go to Start Menu>Control Panel>Power Options and see what the settings under power schemes is. It will have two options, Plugged in and batteries. For plugged in Set the time To never and it won't turn your display off on you again.
If this doesn't work let me know so i can update and solve your problem

Hope This Helps

Dell inspiron 1150 laptop black screen

Can you hear the Windows startup noises but can't hear it?

Does it work plugged into an external monitor? (Any good CRT or flat screen should work.

Be sure to plug in the screen before you turn it on.
If it doesnt output to the LCD automatically you may have to hit FN-F8 to switch to external.

If it works on external monitor you are just dealing with a screen problem of some sort - either a bad inverter or backlight in the LCD most commonly...
