Yes, your pressure stat should turn off once in the "green" area. In most cases a pressure stat works or it doesn't. A lot of times carbon build up on the contacts is the issue. They are sensitive and can break off easily when your cleaning them so be careful. Also make sure the machine is turned off before doing any work (220v = ouch!).

Why is water leaking from pressure release valve?

there can be two reasons I can think of that water drips from that valve :
1: thermostat for boiler is defective and not keeping boiler at proper temperature
2: minerals in water deposited inside valve and keep it from sealing off well

I replaced the pump and it's working, however, when I turned on the machine and the boiler came up, there's a stream of pressured steam coming out of releasing through the top of the machine. Any id

Hopefully, your pressure gauge is working, and if it is at 1.2 bar or so, then you have a failed anti-suction valve or boiler safety valve.
The ASV is the smaller fitting; it might be stuck, so you could try tapping the little button. The boiler safety valve is another matter - it will open at some point past 1.8 bar, which means the pressurestat is shot or its adjustment has been tampered with.

It's most likely the ASV - they do get stuck open as well as closed...

I have an Astoria Argenta SAE1 Jun espresso machine. It has started tripping the circuit breaker. It does this when it has reached operating pressure (or nearly so). It does this without anyone touching...

Your problem could be one or two items (element or pressure stat or both). Remove the screw in the top of the P.stat(black or gray rectangle box with electrical wire going in from bottom about 4-6 inches long), lift the cover and check the terminals(turn power off). Make sure that there are no loose connections on the terminals.
On the element remove the wires that are connected to it and test with an Ohmsmeter.

Hot water no steam low psi

Boiler pressure gauge should be showing in the green zone which should get you 195+ degrees.
