I would try to plug a regular phone in the jack to see if you are getting a clear signal/dial tone to the machine, if not, you may need to have the phone company come check it out.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

sounds like the modem on your printer has failed depending on how old it is most likely it would be cheaper to buy a new printer

Cannot send and receive fax

send or receive... probably have checked this but gotta ask... there are two phone plugs on the back, 'Line' and 'Phone' or 'handset', if you plug the wall into the 'handset' connetor it will hangup on itself when it tries to connect.... Is it dialing then failing, or piking up and then failing?

Peace

Two fax machines on one line, one won't send

Buy a double outlet RJ-11 adapter.

Set the one you use for sending only to MANUAL RECEIVE.

Brother MFC-8440, send fax ok, but no receiving fax

Hi,

The manual has step by step instructions, I'll include a link for the online version. Section four runs through setting up recieving, if it's on a dedicated line follow the first set of instructions to set up automated answering. If it's a shared line(phone/fax) then continue down to the next section.

Note: for a shared line you may need to contact your line provider for a second number that has a "dedicated ring"

Sends blank fax

Dirty scan glass

Clean slit of glass extremly well, it is a small slit rectangler section of glass before copy glass on the scanner.

Glue, Liquid paper are common finds on the glass in this area, While you have the lid up, clean white reference area (on lid directly on top of scan glass when lid is closed)

Brother mfc 8440 "printing" problems

Hi
I recently had this problem - tested fuser and all sensors.
The fix is to reset the memory.
To do this, enter the Maintenance mode. Menu, * 2864
(enter the number quickly)
then type 01 ( zero one ), this will reset all memory including the user settings.
Finally type 99 to exit Maintenance mode.
The printer will restart and the error will be gone. Test out with copy and printer reports
Hoping this fixes your problem
Regards
Lindsay
