Intermec 751B problem after clean boot with iconnect

Hi Guys,

I did a clean boot of my 751 and when it rebooted it installed some standard intermec cab files and then rebooted again.

Then when the screen came up i clicked on the iconnect icon in the bottom corner and then selected tools->wireless settings.

An error popped up saying "The file ' 80211conf ' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file".

Then when you click OK another box pops up saying The intermec wireless tools are not currently installed. Please use the Microsoft Configuration tools instead".

I'm assuming that those intermec files that install at the beginning are corrupted or something.

Does anyone have a copy of them or have any sort of a fix for this or even know what is going on?

Thanks

There are 3 ways to reset the device:

Warm Boot - When an application becomes unresponsive.

Press the Yellow Power button (also referred to as the IO Button) and select the reboot option.

Cold Boot - When device itself becomes unresponsive, will loose any cached data.

Press the Yellow Power Button (also referred to as the IO Button) to suspend the device. Remove the battery pack and press the reset button in the battery compartment (Round rubber button). Boot Problem in my ASUS Eee PC 900 netbook

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Unit will not boot. Screen reads

"Check serial Input" is just part of the cycle on boot up. It checks for a key press on boot up so that it can access a hidden menu. A cradle, serial null modem cable and hyper-terminal is required to bring up this menu

You can try and re-install the operating system.

Download the latest image from Intermec (you will need to register) and then load the image onto an SD card.

Remove the front cover just above the scan engine; 2 slot head screws and insert the SD card. Cold boot the device. Take off battery and hit the reset button a few times. Re-install battery.

Image will begin to reload.

Detailed instructions are available with the download.

NOTE: The latest image downloads from Intermec not longer have the Telnet application pre-installed. If you require the telnet client then select a previous version, but then also not that there are usually 2 versions EX25 and non-EX25 scan engine type.

Problem with winodws mobile 5.0 device application

Hi
As far as judgement goes i have given the cause and the solution. Try these steps out and let me know please so that i can solve this issue if there is a bottleneck

Cause :: This is because one of the files is not loaded or corrupted for Intermec or the path is not found
Resolution ::
Verify that the two barcode assemblies Symbol.Barcode.dll and Symbol.dll are present on the computer.
You can download the assemblies from the Symbol Mobile Developer Kit (SMDK) v1.5 for .NET from the following location: http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=10598&sliceId=&dialogID=16346770&stateId=0%200%201115944.

The newest versions of the firmware are on the intermec website. You will have to register in order to download, but a fake name/address will work...if it is a 740/750 the newest firmware is 4.51 PSM 3.93.1, and if it is a 741/751 the newest firmware is 4.95.1 PSM 4.06. the 760 and 761 have different versions of firmware depending if it is GPRS or CDMA.

When I try to install the software, I get an error message. The installation just quits. trnsp.gif Answer An installation error is defined as any issue or error that prevents the Setup program from fully completing the task. Installation errors can manifest themselves in several different ways. One common installation problem is the Setup program is interrupted with a message indicating some type of problem. Another type of installation error is when the Setup program simply disappears or doesn't complete for any reason. When Setup is interrupted with an error
Many installation issues will be accompanied with an error code and then an error message that identifies the problem. Because the camera software uses the Windows Installer, the exact definition of the problem can be obtained by looking up the error code on Microsoft's website. Two common errors are Error 1904 and Error 2711.
When Setup simply disappears or doesn't complete
Note: When installing software, administrative rights are needed to install all the files for camera software. If you are logged in as another user without administrative rights, the software may not install/function correctly.
First try booting clean. If you are using Windows XP, Windows Me, or Windows 98, click here for instructions on booting clean. If you are using Windows 2000, click here for instructions on booting clean. Once you have booted clean, then try to install the camera software.
Since booting Windows clean may disable CD-ROM support, we recommend you download the latest camera software for your camera and use the download file to install after you have booted clean.
All other installation issues
If you are unable to find a solution to the installation issue given the above information, please try the following suggestions. After each suggestion, try running the installation program again.
  1. Reinstall the Windows Installer. This Windows Installer engine can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=17343
  2. Windows 2000 Only. Stop the Windows Installer service and reboot the machine. To do this:
    1. Right-click on My Computer
    2. Choose Manage
    3. Click on the plus (+) sign next to Services and Applications
    4. Click on Services
    5. On the right side on the pane, double-click on Window Installer
    6. Choose STOP
    7. Reboot the computer.
If the service was already stopped, try starting the service, then stopping the service and rebooting.
If following through on the specific instructions above do not resolve the issue, please try the following standard diagnostics:
  1. Try a different installation media. For example, if you are attempting to install the camera software via the CD, download and install the latest web release. If you are trying to install the web release, try the camera software CD. Please note, the latest software can be downloaded here.
  2. Run ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter. Both of these utilities can be found in the Accessories program group of the Windows Start Menu.
  3. Search for and delete all TMP or CHK files.
For Windows 98 and Windows Me Users:
    1. Click on "Start", "Find" and choose "Files or Folders".
    2. In the Named field, type *.TMP and click "Find Now"; delete all files found.
    3. Repeat this procedure with *.CHK.
    For Windows 2000 Users:
    1. Click "Start", "Search" and choose "For files or folders".
    2. In the Search field, type *.TMP and click "Search Now"; delete all files found.
    3. Repeat this procedure with *.CHK.
    For Windows XP Users:
    1. Click "Start", "Search".
    2. In the "All or part of the file name" field, type *.TMP and click "Search;" delete all files found.
    3. Repeat this procedure with *.CHK.
  4. Empty the TEMP directory; this folder may contain files that are interfering with the installation. To do this, use the following steps:
    1. Right-click on My Computer and choose Explore.
    2. Click on the plus (+) sign next to the C drive.
    3. Click on the plus (+) sign next to the Windows directory. (For Windows 2000, it is the WINNT directory.)
    4. Click on the plus (+) sign next to the Temp directory. The right side of Explorer will display the contents. Select all the files listed in the Temp folder and delete them.
  5. Reboot the system and try installing the software again.

Unmountable_Boot_Volume

this refers to a hard drive fault or a system fault where windows cannot find the boot.ini file to boot into windows. You will need to get in the bios if possible F2 or Del on startup and see if you hardrive is listed in the standard cmos settings listing. If not there is normally an option to press enter to auto identify or press f12 depends on bios make and save settings and exit. if it then shows try booting again. If not then the drive or ide connection to motherboard is damaged. You can also set your CDROM as first boot device if you get into the bios in advanced cmos settings, insert your windows cd, save settings and exit for a reboot and when prompted press enter to start from cd and let windows find your hardrive and attempt to install the system files, if there is no Loding windows message at the end of the file installation its a sure bet that the hard drive is faulty.
