Question about Computers & Internet
I am trying to fix a friends laptop that froze while downloading Windows One Care. When they rebooted they got a black screen with ''error loading operating system''. They tried to use the recovery console but get an error that there is not enough memory to run it. They then tried to reinstall Windows XP but now get another error that ''setup is out of memory and cannot continue''. Can you help me? Please say yes.
First if you haven't already unplug the power and take out the battery for a minute or so. Then reinstall the battery and connect power. Then try and start in Safe Mode, To do this start consistently pressing and releasing the F8 key while pc is powering on, continue until screen should display a similar screen as when turning on normally. From there ( hopefully it has started up ) you should be able to go to START MENU> click/open Control Panel> click/open ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS and start removing any programs, if not all, that look like they are using a lot of memory. Doing the SYSTEM RECOVERY is going to uninstall EVERYTHING and reinstall it anyway. Also remember you can only have one security program running other wise they will conflict with each other and cause numerous problems.
Clear temporary files and browsing history. Open IE, even if you don't ever use it, open TOOLS> open INTERNET OPTIONS> In the BROWSING HISTORY section click DELETE > Then click DELETE ALL
One other thing you may want to do is START MENU> RIght click MY COMPUTER> click PROPERTIES> click ADVANCED> click SETTINGS in the PERFORMANCE box and select 'LET WINDOWS CHOOSE WHAT'S BEST FOR MY COMPUTER'
Hope this helps.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
