Exactly where has the wire come lose at. Where it connects to the washer. Where it connects to the male plug , is the recepticle lose? Each is fixed in a deferant way. You must be exact in you explaination. What brand and model? Model number on info plate on washer. Must say Model number on info plate. Not manufacturer number.

I rewired the unit in its 3-prong orientation and have plugged it into our 20A outlet. In the current orientation, only the dryer works. However, if I switch the black and red wire, only the washer wo

if i understand correctly you have it connected to a 240 volt circuit protected by a 20amp breaker, then you should have it on a minimum of a 240 volt circuit protected by a 30 amp breaker ,then you should have 120volts from the red wire to the white neutral wire and 120 volts from the black wire to the white neutral wire,or 240 volts between the red and black wires, then the unit should operate correctly as the dryer needs 240 volts and the washer uses 120 volts to operate as this is how the unit is wired to operate

should only have two wires goin to it just splice the two together and secure with tywraps to sometheng so the are out of the way. the best way is to use crimped splices is to useright size for the wires, squeese silicon glue into the splices and insert the wires before crimping so that the splices will be moisture proof and wont corrode

I have a Hoover washing machine HNL662 front loader and am getting an electric shock from the drum.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Silly question time first ;-0)
Has this only just started or only just noticed- what's changed, please? Have you previously always worn slippers/shoes which would have isolated you from 'earth' but are not now- because of a change of floor covering for instance?

Possible causes;-
1) the socket into which the washer plugs has no earth continuity, or has lost it,
2) the plug has recently been rewired without a good earth
3) the 'earthing' cable inside the washer has come off. I doubt the latter as it would normally be bolted on to the chassis, or sometimes with a spade terminal.
If you have no-one handy and 'electrically' competent to check, call a local electrician to do the initial checking. It's an easy enough task!

Good luck,

John C

I have a LG WD - 1049C front loader washing machine showing the DE error have emptied out the washing machine and it still comes up, partner bought a new door latch and installed it but the DE is still...

DE error does mean the door latch, but there are three parts that could cause the error code.If you have changed the door lock already then the main p.c.b/computer board has failed and not registering the door lock but there is a 5-10% chance it's the wiring connecting the two parts together. So basically you need to change the main p.c.b & if that doesn't work it needs to be rewired.unless you know how to use a multi-meter then you could test the wiring for a definate answer.THANKS ECO KIZZA

Here is the solution I found that worked for me, there is a small drain hole at the bottom of the boot that is connected to a drain hose. Remove the hose and clean out to make sure that it has not become plagged. replace hose and reattach boot. Mine stoped leaking imediately.
